Greetings everyone,
With the PP faction forums no more I have migrated here. I am a pretty new Warmahordes player in general looking to start up Skorne. I currently play Rest with some Troll dabbling but have always wanted to start Skorne. I have been list building for what I would like to build into and was hoping for a little feedback before I start buying.
I know for sure I want to do Xerxis1 but unsure about what to pair him with. I am not very good understanding good pairings yet but I think I would like to do either Makeda1 or Zaadesh. Would love some thoughts on these lists too. Thanks all in advance!!
Main List- Xerxis1 Brick
Xerxis1 Tiberion Krea Agoniser Willbreaker Bloodrunner Master Tormentor Max Cetrai w/ Vorkesh Max Karax w/ UA Tyrant Commander Max Beasthandlers Legends of Halaak
Pairing Options-
Makeda1 Molik Karn Aradus Soldier Titan Gladiator Krea Agoniser Willbreaker Min Beasthandlers Max Swordsman w/ UA Max Karax w/ UA
Or
Zaadesh2 Tiberion Titan Sentry Titan Gladiator Despoiler Bronzeback Krea Max Beasthandlers

After thinking about it over the weekend I think I am leaning towards Makeda with Xerxis. Also considering some options to change her up. The new battle box seems like a great way to start her army. Maybe trading the soldier for a sentry? Then....stuff? Would be nice to get the Legends in her force too.
Anyone thoughts please and thank you?

You probably made the right call with Makeda1. She should complement X1 better than Zaadesh2 could. I am not a fan of having both Krea and Agonizer in both lists. 13p is a high cost for that kind of flexibility. It's probably better to decide what you want to play a list into and then either take Krea, Agonizer or neither. Not a fan of the Karax CA either, it's pretty expensive for what it does.
Consider Ferox with Makeda, if you don't dislike the sculpts too much. I don't think they'll be bad in even a single game. The heavies are all solid. Consider the Willbreaker optional, in case you need to free up 4p.

Thanks for the reply Zich. Messing with options for Makeda I came up with:
Makeda1 Molik Karn Aradus Soldier Titan Gladiator Krea Beasthandlers- max Swordsman- max w/ ua Karax- max w/ ua Legends of Halaak
Ferox do look really good and I am going to mess around with some options to pick them up. Probably for the karax but who knows.

I like it, go for it. Taking Mak1 as your giant middle finger towards shooting lists makes sense and with the feat she should also be able to play into the low-volume-of-attack lists that control casters like (though Haley2 Storm Division might be the exception, that will be one rough matchup).

Is Makeda good for anti-shooting for the shield guard on battle group plus def from quicken? Or is there something else I am not seeing in her toolbox to go against shooting? If she is anti-shooting and anti-small number of melee units does that leave Xerxis to deal with big melee threat armies? Any examples? I am still really struggling knowing what and who to drop on against other forces. Thanks.
