slinkdawgI played against Vyros2 over the weekend and I have to say, it's a nightmare. I dropped my Nemo1 list which usually handles Jack spam super well. I believe the list was 8 Griffons, Imperatus, and a Manticore with 3 Arcanists. After the game I had no idea what would be good into it that is sort of a "normal" tournament list. Nemo3 perhaps? The shield guards are highly problematic and take away all of our gunline casters games. So, my question to Slinkdog is what did he play that had success into it?

If they do not bring Helios (read Imperatus and Griffons) stryker1 double colossal can handle vyros2 pretty well. With the +3 synergy cap, griffons struggle into arcane shielded storm walls. You earthquake imperatus, and cap him with the disruptor pistol. Even arcanists can't help him shake, he has to forfeit movement or action. With pods, you can precisely drop the 5" AOE where you need to and tag a shield guard or a few. Eventually, EQ Vyros2 and shoot him to death with boosted guns. I was using this list in SR 2016. Theme: Heavy Metal 4 / 4 Free Cards 74 / 75 Army Commander Coleman Stryker - WJ: +30 - Squire - PC: 0 - Stormwall - PC: 39 (Battlegroup Points Used: 30) - Lightning Pod - Stormwall - PC: 39 - Lightning Pod - Firefly - PC: 8 Captain Arlan Strangewayes - PC: 0 Journeyman Warcaster - PC: 0 - Charger - PC: 9 Lieutenant Allison Jakes - PC: 0 - Charger - PC: 9 If the ret player has graduated to using Helios, this strategy won't work. Helios will be earthquake proof. You have to now worry about Helios (POW 26 under synergy and concentrated power!!) and Imperatus. Also, Helios can tractor beam stryker1 from behind his storm walls and pull him 9". Lastly, imperatus and Helios are high enough defense that you probably miss at least one melee attack if your stormwalls can engage them. Nemo3 has some tools in the Helios match up with magnetic field, but you just can't gun down jacks with all those shield guards. At best, you can run a friendly model and leap Vyros2 to death with your feat. I might try Kraye and centurions after Kraye changes.

Evasive from Arlan would be pretty funny against Helios, get pushed 3" forward, walk 2" back

In talking with my usual ret opponent who mains a rain, vyros 2 pair he said he would be terrified of a nemo3. I am skeptical of its efficacy with all of the shield guards and boxes. He said he witnessed 2 vyros lists get dismantled at lock and load by nemo 3 so I guess it has legs.
I run
Nemo3 Squire Dynamo Lancer 2 fireflies 2 storm striders Jakes Firefly Jr Firefly Arlan

nemo shuts down helios pretty hard, but a griffon spam list still has plenty of game. griffons are durable enough that they aren't worth shooting down, and even on feat turn eleaps don't do significant damage.

It sort of relies on the vyros player messing up, but nemo3 can theoretically run a friendly, electrical immune model up and electro leap vyros to death on feat turn. Keep in mind that nemo3 can boost damage on the leaps from the chain lightning spell but not on any guns. (4d6 on feat?) The ret player can only shield guard friendly models. Shooting a friendly for e-leaps can't be shield guarded.
