So I have always disliked magnetizing the Dire Troll using the Bomber/Blitzer back. Magnetizing both back pieces always results in gaps which I liked even less. I like my Dire Trolls to have their quills showing to be honest...besides, the Bomber/Blitzer back plate looks like it is literally bolted into the troll's skin which seems more something I'd expect in Cephalyx...less so in Trolls. I imagine the conversation about adding it to Mr. Dire Troll must have gone like this: Unlucky Trollblood dude: OK, so I'm going to bolt this metal plate onto your back, it should hurt a lot...don't eat me though, OK?Anyways, while going through the Privateer Press parts store I noticed that the shoulder plates for the Berserker and the Road Hog looked like they would be perfect for the conversion I had in mind. *NOTE* I'm terrible at missing mold lines that I don't notice until I've applied primer. I'll certainly be cleaning a few of these parts up before painting... *EDIT* Also, the holes you see in the harness and the metal ring in the collar are for chain which I am going to add once the painting is done. Here's what I came up with:

It's a good solution to the problem. The offset gun bothers me a little bit though; it feels unbalanced. Perhaps you could put something one the other shoulder to balance it out, like a box of ammo (so the trailing ammo belt is feeding from a box or bag)?

That's an interesting idea. I do have some extra bits from an eBay lot I picked up...I think there is another whelp/slugger that I can experiment with in that lot. I'll have to order a couple more Berserker shoulder pads though. The offset gun doesn't bother me as much, but I do like the idea of an ammo box. That short ammo belt wouldn't last long in combat so that sounds like a good solution to have more ammo on the other shoulder.
I got this idea from another post I saw a while back where they used greenstuff to sculpt a single shoulder pad on one side. I tried that as well with another kit, but my greenstuff sculpting skills aren't super great and it didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped it would.
