I've been trading on Bartertown for 13.5 years - Matthew Murray (654 rating) - and I have back up what the others have said. Putting a trading section on Lormahordes is a really bad idea - you're asking for nothing but trouble.
Bartertown has been an incredible venue to buy / sell / trade gaming stuff. If you follow the rules, act like the classy person you want everyone else to treat you like, and communicate clearly (as well as a lot) you will realize that Bartertown is awesome. I have been able to trade off giant piles of GW stuff (WH40K 2nd, Epic, Battle Fleet Gothic), B5Wars, Battletech, and Star Fleet Battles for giant piles of Warmachine and Hordes stuff (plus some money) over the years. Some of my trades have been jaw-dropping and have made my friends refer to me as a pimp. (No, I am not looking to expand from miniatures into women, thank you for asking.)
The only way I would let people cross-post their Bartertown postings would be if there was some way to keep people from conducting discussions on Lormahordes. All trade discussions should be kept to Bartertown IM, email if necessary (or you're stupid.) If you allow negotiations here on Lormahordes your only going to let the place get cr@pped up by people who don't know better.
But hey, that's just my opinion, what the hell do I know?

I think people have made some nice arguments regarding NOT having a full trading area on this site. What if we limit it to being able to let other people know that they just listed something to increase viewing traffic? Something like, "I'm selling some [INSERT FACTION] models on BT, come take a look if you are interested." Any and all correspondences need to go through BT regarding the transaction.

Maybe just my opinion, but I would be more inclined to have a "looking for" section, rather than a selling section. We are, after all, a forum dedicated to the discussion and playing of Warmachine. If you are looking to get a new faction/more models for an existing faction, that seems like something we could help facilitate. Then people could list places they had seen deals on what the person was requesting. If we get into letting people post "I'm selling/trading X at bartertown", we essentially become a billboard.
