Been having a lot of love for Barnabas recently (always liked him in MK2 and used to run him as my anti-cryx drop.) For some reason he seems to have replaced Rask as my go-to all corners list, which is not to say I don't like me a bit of Rask but perhaps i'm just feeling the loss of inhospitable ground.
So really looking for ideas of what to pair with Barnabas that asks a different set of questions and can deal with a different type of threat. I currently don't own any Pigs but am open to using them (one of my friends has a pig army i could borrow then if sufficiently happy could make the purchase myself.)
The Barnabas list i'm currently running is 75pts:
Barnabas - WB28
Blackhide Wrastler - 16pts
Ironback Spitter - 15pts
Ironback Spitter - 15pts
Croak Raiders max - 17pts
Croak Raiders max - 17pts
Bokur + Bog trog shamblers - 11pts
Bog trog Ambushers min - 10pts
Totem hunter - free
Mist speaker - free
Feralgeist - 2pts.
Everything is pretty much duel purpose depending on what I need. Spitters can clear infantry with guns or grab rage and put some hurt on a heavy (or throw it closer to the wrastler.) The Croak raiders can clear infantry especially if it is knocked down, or can oil and put some hurt on bigger targets, the Bokur can sacrifice bog trogs to boost damage/extra attacks if needed to hurt medium targets, the perceived threat of bog trog ambushers tends to force my opponent to bunch together which works for my spitters/croaks/feat or failing that get some good ambush kills. Mist speaker is their to give eyeless sight/magical to a spitter if needed or at the least to buff the shamblers (then add Death march to get MAT8 shamblers with vengence.) Feralgeist is their to contest zones, claim flags or to use an anchor for a spitter to shoot at to maximise hits on a spread out enemy infantry unit. In fact the Totem hunter and the Wrastler is about the only things that don't duel use they just kill stuff.
The holy trinity that stay in a swamp pit right in the face of the enemy tend to be Barnabas, the Wrastler and the Bokur (as it lets him get close to get corpses without being sniped out.
So yeah was wondering what to pair this with, perhaps something a bit more skewed towards a certain goal/shortcoming of this list.
