What are your suggestions on how to fix these misfits? Even if allowed in themes by the possible CID changes they're not going to be much use. I'd love a reason to buy them; what changes could be made to to make you do the same?
Starting suggestion: Edrea swaps wind barrier for the Lys healer's Blessings of Faith spell (friendly faction no knockdown/stationary within 5"). Swap Arcane Bolt for Razor Wind if needed to keep her air theme. provides new synergy with pigs, pirates, wrong eye, ashlynne, etc.

Applied Knowledge should affect a whole unit, or Wind Barrier should effect every model in range. Or give Collaboration (*Action: One warrior model within this model's CMD range gets one boosted attack roll this turn.) back to Lynus, but make it Friendly Faction. A single boosted attack roll doesn't make any merc/minion caster OP.

I think either removing the 'in this unit' clause from wind barrier or turning applied knowledge into model/unit instead of just model would work. It allows them to actually support the army in a meaningful way.

I'd give them a rework. Their fluff would indicate them as the perfect merc/minion caster attachment. I'd redo them along those lines. They could provide each provide a nifty benefit, or several options of benefits. They could be a nice little toolbox. Just spitballing... Edrea has Arcane Secrets Lynus can give something else to do with his broad knowledge. Kinda like Reinholdt? Then another rule for when the are both in formation and have their caster in cmd, the caster can draw sight through them.

Naw, they are fine already in the meta role of being a lightning rod for player angst.

Go back towards Mk2 version. Give Lynus a special order that lets them perform a *action, walk, basic attack.

Or go full crazy times. Make them a roving weapon or command attachment for certain minion and merc units. Probably cost more in points in that case but it would be hilarious.

I actually really, really like that. It allows you to get real use out of Zephyr and Wind Barrier and you don't really need to change anything else on their card.

You could easily just give them Attachement[Small or Medium Based Minions Unit] and suddenly they would be crazy. Not 100% sure on crazy. Croak Raiders are the unit that would benefit the most from them (unless you made them a Weapon Attachment to allow Brigands to use them). The rest of our roster is melee, and a unit loaded with Special Actions doesn't interact well with melee. They'd be an expensive option, but an actually useful one. Though a Razorback Crew that can't be shot (or that has access to Zephyr for shoot-and-scoots to put it 20" from its original target) is cute, and in theme you can ignore the fact that it just doubled the unit's cost. They're the best models we have for receiving Applied Knowledge anyway.

I could see them synergizing with Nyss as well. Then there's Blythe and Bull, who *really* benefit from being a 4-person unit (L&E get prey). Also if they were allowed on the Hambushers in thornfall theme...

They should give Edrea Hex Blast, Arcane Void, Mental Force, Bleed, Puppet Master, Death Rattle and Gate Walker.
They should give Lynus Granted Prey, Repo [3], his gun becomes RNG 14, ROF 5, POW 15, Grievous Wounds, Marksman, and Applied Knowledge becomes all Friendly models get +2 to attack and damage rolls, and boosted attack and damage rolls
