If you're going 100% rhulic, I usually over come it with hammer bros and Ossrum feat. It just means before you pop feat you wanna try and make sure you're in perfect position to utilize as much of the feat as possible.
For pathfinder in non-rhulic, you can grab Rhupert Carvolo -aka The most interesting man in the Iron Kingdoms- or you can take "Action" Saxon Orrik. Those both help, but for the most part, you just end up spending a lot of time making sure you deployed properly.
Yeah the Rhulic Siege Crawler ended up in an incredibly solid place. I think Battle Engines is a place where CID hit it out of the park. I love that it basically doubled its durability, maintained its offensive output, and gained some support utility. I tended to use one in my ossrum and durgen lists simply because i love how its painted and there was enough synergy with my lists that it was a fun cool addition if perhaps not the most competitive use of similar points. Now however its a solid take even outside of corner case tactics. Good stuff.
I'm wrestling with picking up a second one for larger games, mostly because holy crap, that thing was fun to assemble, base, and paint.
