For a long time, I actually thought piggy banks had to be broken open. It always seemed like such a bad design! Then someone showed me how to open them and I felt quite foolish. But but but..the satisfaction of smashing something..

But but but..the satisfaction of smashing something.. But over time that Piggy has held my money and kept it safe, growing in his porcelain stomach. We have a bond now! I might be anthropomorphizing a bit much... Either way, I agree. It's a couple of rules away from being an awesome model and an auto include with Ossrum. Tactician allowing Forge Guard to charge through it is great, but its just not quite there. Girded or rough terrain on it's AoEs and I think we're there.

Alas, the Siege Crawler USED to have girded. And I'm almost sure the Avalancher was RNG 14 once upon a time... but I've Female Doged about that elsewhere.

Alas, the Siege Crawler USED to have girded. Oh, I'm aware. I was on the fence about buying it then, heard it was going to give cover and went to buy it, then saw that it lost girded and held off. Now I'm on the fence again.

If recursion for Revenant Crew is strong. Recursion for Forge Guard is better.
I am definitely going to try out some double FG + Double Crawler lists.

With more boxes... and reinforce... want.

Isn't the CID still ongoing? If so then I would have though it was a bit hasty, buying a model based on the first draft of a set of test rules?

I don't disagree, but I've almost purchased it at three different rule configurations now. I think its unlikely that it won't be much better than the previous two, based on the proposed rule set (they see it clearly needed something). Not going all in on 2 of them yet, but I think 2 in theme with Ossrum could be absolutely disgusting.

I have sold some of my Merc stuff. I tried to sell my Rhulic but had not luck. Now I'm re-considering whether I should sell it and just keep it instead. I would like to play purely Rhulic except for maybe a really good solo or two (such as Rhupert).
Here is what I have... All three casters Earthbreaker Driller Basher 3 Gun Blasters 3 units of Forge Guard 2 units of TAC Brun & Lug H&J Thor 2 Ogrun Bokurs
If I do keep my Rhulic what else do you think I should buy? From the sounds of the battle engine CID at least one (probably 2) Siege Crawlers sounds like a good idea at the least assuming of course that the rules stay as is.

You have a nearly complete array of tools. The only thing you are missing IMO would be... TWO MORE DRILLERS In Warmachine, we are firmly in the zone of cheaper warjacks = awesome warjacks, and few are as cheap or awesome as the Driller for 10 points. Many of my lists start with a trio of these things, and I am rarely dissapointed. Playing them in Hammer Strike theme gives heavy jacks Reposition 3, so that makes them even more awesome MORE GUNNERS You have 3 Blasters. Back in the infantry-heavy days of Mark 2, this would have been perfect. Today, we need longer ranges and higher hitting power, and so the Gunner has come to the forefront as the most useful Rhulic light. I would recommend getting a couple of blisters of Gunners, giving you a total of four. That seems to be the most I personally ever need. Many players are proponents of the Rhulic "Bunny Farm" list, which features Ossrum with like 12-14 Gunners and Blasters. Personally I am not a fan of this list, as it has way too many hard counters to be truly effective, but if this play style is appealing to you, then you might need like another five more packs of Gunners instead of the two I proposed. SIEGE CRAWLERS As you say, the Siege Crawler is looking as if it's a good purchase. It depends on the final version, but I am not convinced that two of them would be a good buy. It would be interesting to see if you could make a list that had twin Crawlers and your three units of Forge Guard. Might be nifty, but you never know. One is almost certain to be worth it (it has been in my CID playtest games), but two might not be the best thing.
