I don't we are bad in the overall. Pow12 wyrds give us a ranged game that we didn't have. We are not the bottom of the pile, at all. Absolutely true. The best circle lists are starting to lean towards leveraging a strong ranged presence with decent melee as a back up. But the caveat here is ... who the hell got into circle to play a ranged game?Where are the teleportation shenanigans? Where is the hit an run? Where are my hordes of barbarians that can tear down metal monsters with their axes? (seriously give them brutal charge back PP ) Where are the magical guardians on the wilds who's natural spell casting ability is second to none? I rag on other people for being salty about their factions but Circle is the one that does it to me, so I will simply say that I needed to step away and hopefully come back later to maybe see the forest from all the trees again. I couldn't take being out threatened in melee by just about everybody and feeling locked into sentry stones in every list. So to the original topic, yes our melee beasts all feel a little lacking and that's because PP seems to be pushing us towards the ranged options. If circle gets some melee support for the beasts like caster independant damage buffs or an animus to give an extra 2" movement you'll probably see them make a resurgence. ... or you know ... a full on circle beast/infantry CID (casters are actually all pretty good).

Our difficult matchups are: extreme shooting and extreme armor/boxes spam. Wyrds don't solve nothing into both.
And the fact people bring strong counter to extreme shooting is aggravating for our middling gunlines.

Depends on both...
Extreme shooting without ways to negate LOS blocking is something we can deal with, and extreme armor better not depend on upkeeps or we can deal with it as well.
OFC Khador vannilla armor spam is a problem, especially with vlad's SPD 4, charge 12+ jacks as is a lot of shooting lists.
streetpizza : I agree with you 100%, I don't mind that we get good ranged tools, I just mind that our infantry stops at POW 13, that our offensive medium infantry has the lowest charging mat in the faction, etc.. etc... etc...

Well to be completely fair it stops at 14 with gang on the skinwalkers. I just miss having something that can really threaten armor outside of beasts. Getting skins up to P+S16 with stone skin is a thing but then you're crapping on their already lowish speed. If you really want to get it done in melee with the faction infantry though you should be looking at Mohsar. Mirraged skinwalkers charging a curse of shadowed heavy at mat 8 P+S 16 from 12" out (14 with hunter's mark) is no joke. Wolves of Orboros would be pow 11 weapon masters at 13 or 15" out with CMA for pow 13's. I used to pull off P+S17 with the ravagers though and its sad to see the "offensive" infantry out done by the "defensive" guys and the chaff. ... but damn it ... now I've just talked myself into trying Mohsar in the wild hunt ... thanks J.

Every time I look at the wild hunt I want to double up on Reeves.
I'm really looking forward to pulling that stunt with Una2. Hot-swapping HoF for 4 POW 19 S&P shots is seriously legit.

I seem to have the "dice hate fun" moment every time I bloody shoot with Tanith's gun. So far she has missed every boosted 8 she's needed... I'm beginning to think I should pretend it doesn't exist.

I may just be holding a grudge.
She missed that shot to shadow-bind and kill Kreoss2, cost me the game. I am not feeling very forgiving.

hey, at least if it hits it's guaranteed shadow bind. I've never had the naga hit crit shadow bind. Boosted every attack roll ever. Up until last game he literally had a 100% miss rate. That thing, I have a grudge against. But the animus is required for the faction to function well.
Edit: something something... on topic... Loki is pretty.

Haha!
I've had more shadow-bind from the Naga than I have from Tanith. The cow just hates me (but I love her so much anyway... I think Tanith has me in the friendzone).

Sheesh, women really are a mystery.

I lived the dream last game. Tanith hit the center of a defensive line formation and kept 8 of a 12 man unit shadowbound for 3 turns.
