I am going to a small SR (16-24 participants) using the CID SR17 this weekend and I am still struggling with my list. I would like to take I1 as one list but I am not sure if I should take him in them or not. In theme would be Khador Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Legion of Steel (Irusk 1) Kommandant Irusk [+27] - Conquest [37] Iron Fang Kovnik [0(4)] Uhlan Kovnik Markov [7] Battle Mechaniks (max) [5] Black Dragons (max) [17] - Black Dragon Officer & Standard [0(4)] Great Bears of the Gallowswood [9] Iron Fang Pikemen (max) [15] - Iron Fang Pikemen Officer & Standard [0(4)] Iron Fang Uhlans (min) [12] But I am not sure if he would work better out of theme. Last time, I played him this way: conflictchamber.com/#c3201b78c29v8p8q86758I7QgdKhador Army - 74 / 75 points (Irusk 1) Kommandant Irusk [+27] - Conquest [37] - Sylys Wyshnalyrr, The Seeker [4] Man-O-War Drakhun [9] Man-O-War Kovnik [5] Battle Mechaniks (min) [3] Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters (max) [19] - Koldun Kapitan Valachev [4] Man-O-War Shocktroopers (max) [16] - Man-o-War Shocktrooper Officer [4] Played against Ret 3x and Cryx, won against Cryx and 1 Ret-Player. Also not an optimal list but it served its purposes. So better in our out of theme?

I like both lists but I would go with your first list.

I've played something similar to your second list, and I just can't get 23 points worth of work out of Nyss Hunters + Valachev. So I'd go with the first.

If it's 1 list only then it's probably better to pick more all-comers list. While Legion of steel can cover a lot of matchups I don't think it's generalist enough due to inability to have meaningful ranged component. I'd go either with WG theme or no theme, out of your 2 lists I'd pick the second one.

Ah, OK. No, it is a 2-list tournament. I cannot go WG as I only own 1 Unit of WGI+Joe and one Field Gun.
My second list is
Khador Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Jaws of the Wolf
(Irusk 2) Supreme Kommandant Irusk [+27] - Behemoth [25] - Juggernaut [12] - Juggernaut [12] Greylord Forge Seer [0(4)] - Destroyer [14] Greylord Forge Seer [0(4)] Widowmaker Marksman [4] Battle Mechaniks (min) [3] Kayazy Assassins (max) [15] - Kayazy Assassin Underboss [4] Kayazy Eliminators [5] Widowmaker Scouts [8]

How set are you that it has to be one of those two lists?
If it does have to be, then I'd go with List 1 - I just can't see the Nyss doing enough work in the second list. List 1 also gives you something of an ARM skew, while your Irusk2 list is the stealth/high DEF list.
If you're up for changing the lists, how about adding the Uhlans to List 2 in place of the list. Max if you've got it, min if not. That leaves some points to play around with, Uhlans work really well with Irusk1 and I enjoy them in combination with MoW. It essentially gives two waves of hard-hitting models, none of which are easy for many lists to chew through.

If it's 2 list then you should definitely pick Legion of steel as your one list. It's quite potent when you drop it into safe matchups where it isn't countered outright.
And as a second list I think the Jaws one is better because it has access to magical weapons on Seers. If you include magical weapons in non theme list then you can probably use it as second list with some caster switching.
As far as sr17 goes I think you're okay. The non-Legion shooting list will be much better on I2 in sr17, because of forests in center and stuff.
