So, we are closing in on the release of our very own command book. While we have seen all of the new models for the book (and I'm personally very excited for them,) we have not seen the new theme forces. So, begin your wishlisting blighted brothers and sisters!
Personally, I fully expect a Nyss only theme (so no striders, ogrun, ect.) that will hopefully give us something cool like free clouds on t1 (blizzards from the nyss spellcasters) or some form of interesting beast interaction.

I have it on good authority that we're getting a Nephilim theme and something that's similar to MK2 Machinations of Shadow.
Nephilim theme bonuses are Unyielding for all Nephilim, free solos/CA's for XX points spent on Nephilim warbeasts and a bonus to going first.
Machinations gives free solos/CA's for XX points spent on Legion warbeasts, choose a non-warlock unit to gain apparition at the start of each control phase and put out upkeeps on turn 1 for free like Forges of War.

...why would we get free CAs for Warbeasts. Usually themes that give warbeast bonuses give free weapon crews, support units\solo bunches and even free lessers instead.

My info is 2nd hand so it's not going to be exactly correct. The main idea is that the first theme has a Nephilim + Blighted Nyss thing going on, where you can take only non-character Nephilim beasts and Nyss units like Swordsmen plus some support solos. The second one is the magic-user theme where units with Magic Ability are what's allowed, plus any non-character warbeast.

No, that stuff I totally understand. Just unsure why apparently beast-themed lists would include free CAs. The nyss one I could see (it would be weird tho,) but would the new Machinations even have CS to give for free? Bayal maybe?

Bayal is one. Also it could be an indication of things to come in the future, or maybe they're just future-proofing the theme force in case they add more magic units with CA's later. You can also take free solos. Not having to pay for Forsaken will be *huge* in a theme like new Machinations where you're rewarded for taking any non-character beast (or bonded beast as the case may be). I was running the numbers earlier today. Abby2 - Proteus 19 - Carnivean 19 - Carnivean 19 - Seraph 14 - Raek 8 - Naga Nightlurker 8 2x Forsaken 4 each 2x Deathstalker 4 each That's my normal Abby2 list. If the theme works that way that other ones do that means for every 25 points spent on Warbeasts we get free solos/CA's. The above list will then change as follows: - Drop 2x Deathstalkers since they aren't allowed in theme freeing up 8 points. - I have 87 points of Warbeasts which is enough to get 3 free solos - so the Forsaken effectively become 0 points and I have one solo "in the bank" - With the 16 points no longer accounted for I can take 2x more Raeks or Blight Wasps or Shredders or whatever which brings the total number of points spent on beasts to 103 - enough to get a FOURTH free solo. - I take two Forsaken and a Sorceress & Hellion or two, Shepherds, Spell Martyrs, whatever. New list: Abby2 - Proteus - 2x Carnivean - Seraph - 3x Raek - Naga Nightlurker 2x other free solos 2x free Forsaken This will help immensely with Legion's problems with paying a premium for our Warbeasts and will go a long way toward bringing us back to our MK2 glory days of huge battlegroups. EDIT Just came up with this as an alternative to the above. Abby2 - Proteus - 3x Carnivean - Seraph - Naga Nightlurker - Shredder 1x Shepherd/Spell Martyr 2x Free Forsaken 2x other free solos This might actually be better. Being able to fit a fourth combat heavy with the kinds of buffs that Abby2 can leverage sounds pretty insane. Of course there are other Warlocks to experiment with too - Thagrosh1, Abby1 and Fyanna2 being the ones most immediately interesting to me. What do you guys think?

We are getting two additional tiers, one nephilim and one magic based. When compared to what we've seen already it is not the greatest.

Sac pawn winter guard, free junior and other solos for taking more jacks.

Ravens of War is a cool theme but it isn't nearly as competitive as stuff like Storm Division, Heavy Metal and Winter Guard Kommand.
