Ok, I'm probably going to catch flak for this. But this is strictly a goof-ball what if sort of thing.
What if an equivalent to warbeast packs was created for Warjacks? Smaller, faster, cheap and terrible easy to kill. Now, I know so many people are going to fly off the handle that Jacks are all ready to cheap, and focus efficient, blah blah blah.
So I ask you to suspend your notions of the jack balance and relax in a light hearted bit of thought.
So what came to mind was an ice climbers sort of deal. Just a small pair or triplet of mini-jacks. Each pod? (I'ma go with pod) would have a very specialized role. For example Khador, whats a jack thematic that would be better if you have a bunch of little cheap versions of it? Self destruct! Have mini crab jacks that are resilient to shooting that can go block up zones, and then as a special action spend their focus to explode. Or make them really, really good push bots. Bulldozer, slam power attack, grand slam, even counter slam. Ret can get force bubbles, like the Krea animus (Since Ret seems to be getting a ton of anti-shooting next release). Cygnar could get... is there anything they don't already have? Cryx needs corpse/soul takers, like rework the Helldiver to be able to work as a cheap group that when they kill something they get the soul token, then the Caster can pull it off of them. Protectorate could get ones with rules to add continuous fire to other model's attacks in a short cmd. Or an alternative to the choir, so you have a cheap squishy choir or a healthier mini-jack but there are way fewer of them (FA restrictions would be key to balance that). Convergence already has servit-...oh, I'm really thinking of servitors aren't I? Just like, bigger servitors that can be given focus.
But the restrictions would be that they only have about 8 hitboxes. Can only gain focus up to the number of models remaining in the unit. Can only gain 1 from power up no matter how many models are in the unit. FA 2 maybe with a fluff reason that the tiny parts require super high precision and much rarer resources to create, idk.
