Guys,
Just getting into Warmahordes and chose Gators (big Lizardmen fan from Fantasy). Got the posse and Wrastler/Blindwalker kits.
Really dislike metal and wondering if you guys have created/use any Privateer-approved plastic conversions/proxies for warlocks/light warbeasts, etc. I can't stand dropping metal minis and having them get knicked-up over time.
Looking to build/convert a Boneswarm, Bull Snapper and warlock. That said, I've acquired a Sacral Vault (on the way) and seeing what I can do with it. The Gators are mostly resin, so they are acceptable non-metals. Maybe give the witch doctor a hood and an axe to be Barnabas. The other two gators can proxy for additional Wrastlers? We'll see when I get the models in the mail.
Like to hear if any of you have non-metals Gator conversions or proxies.
Thanks!

Competitive events, it wouldn't really work, as per the steamroller 2016 packet on Model conversions.
No proxies allowed. However if playing casual, then I'm sure nobody would actually mind if you were using toy dinosaurs on the appropriate sized bases.

Thanks. Could you make a conversion a tournament-eligible Hordes figure (all Horde parts) that matches all aspects of another Hordes figure; i.e., using the top Gator from the Sacral Vault as a Witch Doctor or a Gator Posse gator completely decked out with all of Banabas' gear so that you wouldn't know it wasn't Barnabas? Is there a difference between conversions and proxies?
Sorry for all the questions.

Generally, proxies are using one model to represent a different one (such as using Sparkler Salesmen* as proxies for winter guard rockets). Conversions involve modifying the model with the intent for it to become legal, rather than just stand in for the model. Greenstuff round shoulder plates and a furry hat on the aforementioned deliverer, and it could legally become a winterguard. Main thing that's important for proxies is base size; so your suggestion of using gatormen posse as wrastlers wont work (unlike negagator's toy dino suggestion; I have a reaper bones turtle model instead of an ironback spitter) In theory, what you're suggesting is totally feasible. The general rule is "if an experienced player can tell what model it is unprompted and at arm's length" it'll qualify. For official tourneys they may enforce the 50%+ PP parts rule as well. Full rules: privateerpress.com/organized-play/tournament-conversion-policyWeapon swaps, upgrade kits, and Caster conversions are particularly finicky so pay attention to those rules. Just remember to ask for feedback on your work before taking it to a tournament as what's recognizable to the creator isn't always for others. However, as there's only one version of Barnabus (eBarny incoming though) and you sound open to using Barny's actual weapon and backrack, I doubt you'd run into issues. Just make sure to distinguish it significantly from the witchdoc (as it's another hooded gator). Couldn't find any of Barny, but here's a entirely legal conversion made of Borka's bits affixed to an Axer torso... img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/nekhar/IMG_4424.jpg
