It did! I am still attempting to log back in, but Steam is very insistent that I need to shut up!
So what's up? Everyone running the all Kossites lists? Heck Yes!

Yup, that accurately describes 2020! I'm trying to work from home and not catch COVID in a city that has been upping it's cases.
I get the stress. But, there is some bright side stuff happening! Congrats on a soon to be new president!

Congrats on a soon to be new president! I work in healthcare as you may recall. So I don’t really get to work from home. Or generally rest. And of course I’m around Detroit, which has had its up’s and downs this year. Though I dooo love how much my governor annoys the outgoing President. Yeah! I felt some peace of mind since the election. And I should be getting the vaccine fairly soon. So unless that gives me unexpected mutations, 2021 might not be awful.

My parents got down with COVID some time ago, got better but, well, from one thing to the other: Screening pointed out that my dad in all likelihood has cancer and is getting further check-ups soon...We don't know anything other than he was clean two years ago and apparantly isn't. It's the same shit that my grandfather died from over 20 years ago. So, times... 2020 hasn't been great. Here's hoping '21 doesn't continue the trend. Me? Just working and hobbying (and gaming and netflixing) because what else can you do? Country is pretty much locked down 'till 20th of januari or so. Speaking of hobbying, got some other thing painted up: White was less tricky than I thought it would be; it's mostly in combination with the trims that cause a near-endless cycle of touch-ups. Worked out in the end, I think. Working in healtcare is rough in this time, hope you're hanging on

I’m sorry about your dad. I hope whatever it ends up being, it’s something he can come back easily from. The model looks cool. I’m glad you’re staying busy and somewhat productive. I got about 16hrs into painting a D&D storm giant and then lost my motivation. I’m hoping I’ll find the energy next weekend.
I’m doing what I can to keep going. I was recently telling a coworker that we’re lucky in a way. Being among the handful of people still working full time and then some. I actually got a raise this year. In spite of the pandemic, I’m making more than I ever have(which is a pretty low bar but still). And all it’s risking is my health or maybe life on a regular basis.
Yeah. 2020 is terrible.

One thing to keep in mind is that barring underlying health issues (lung related stuff or being obese are quite the risk factors) the individual risk to young people is low. Of course, even a percent of a percent, manageable if not negligible on an individual scale, quickly adds up from a theoretical risk to "airliners per day" when you talk about the populations involved. The US has 320 million people, mine "only" has 17 but we're all living on a postal stamp.
Here's hoping the vaccine can get us to a "return to normal" ASAP.

Oh for sure. I have significant asthma related breathing issues so I’m considered high risk. Which makes what I do all that more exciting.
Thankfully as far as healthcare jobs go, my risk of exposure is relatively low working in a semi-independent living facility. We can monitor everyone closely and limit visitors.

I'm probably one of the last folks they'll give one :v Yes, ideally I’ll get the vaccine in the next couple weeks. According to my boss today, they’re working on getting the paper work set. But I presume with the holidays it’ll likely be mid January by the time I can get it. And until you get yours, just continue to be safe and careful.

Heck, continue to be safe and careful after you get the vaccine too, because at least here in the U.S., we've got a non-trivial number of goofballs* who believe the pandemic is a hoax, or the vaccine is a conspiracy, or the vaccine and pandemic are a Democratic conspiracy to control the deep state (!!!11!1!) or whatever. Distrusting the people you meet on the street for quite some time is probably a highly rational policy.
* that's the polite word for "complete idiots", right?

Well, that's less of a problem here. Our whackjobs are mostly physically harmless, we don't have people LARPing as operators operating operationally.

Well regarding my dad it's been a massive dodge; some benign stuff has been removed but all in all we are in the green.
And that's like, the best Firetrucking news in a while.
