sorokin , I missed the friendly *faction* part... darn. But if they were friendly faction we’d never have a reason to play them with someone other than Vlad 2 I suppose. Yeah i think the wold is better of without feated Void Archons

What would be the icing on the cake is that they make Kozlov selectable in Warriors of the Old Faith. He doesn't have a horse but we need caster parity in there damnit. It won't happen though

I went back and started reading through some of the old Creepy Card Player thread (which I saved off the old forums before they got nuked).
Man...I was so, so much happier and funnier then.
What the hell is wrong with me now?

The first step is admitting you have a problem. Now that's done, you just need to figure out a second step. If you're unhappy and you don't know why, perhaps it would help to speak to a therapist.

I’ll post a special Christmas surprise this year, assuming I remember to do it.

Therapy is dumb. Also, something something funny joke. I can't speak for you, but for me, I am suffering hard core from Old Man Syndrome. Before I could lived out of a car, said f' this job and travel anywhere. Now a wife, kid, house, and real career later I am way more comfortable but got too much skin in the game of life to pull an Office Space. It is source of frustration, until I reach Chilled Grandpa level.

Before you ask yourself that, ask what is different nowadays? That is super simple: 1) About 10,000 of my closest Warmachine-playing friends died roughly three years and 10 months ago, when the old PP forums got nuked. 2) I feel like I legitimately have PTSD from my job for the years 2017 and 2018. Those years were stupidly, stupidly stressful for me, and recovering from that has been slow and difficult and quite frankly isn't close to complete. No, I wasn't off fighting a war, but stress is stress. 3) The shiny newness of MK III has really worn off, and I feel like Khador, the faction I dearly love, has (comparatively) taken a huge beating as this edition has gone on. Either I somehow got noticeably worse playing 3-4 games per week, every week, for several years, or the game changed around the faction. Every single game I played in 2019 felt like an uphill battle, and frankly it just wasn't fun. My enthusiasm for Warmachine is at an absolute nadir, after about 50 straight not-enjoyable games with Wolves of Winter, and especially something like 18 straight no-competition-not-even-close losses there at the end before quarantine hit. 4) Nine months of quarantine is getting old. My chief source of relaxation is playing with toy soldiers. My chief form of socialization with other humans is via playing with toy solders. I haven't gotten to do that in almost nine months. 5) The last four years of infuriating, reality-defying, nonsense political "leadership" in America is just about enough to drive a rational person crazy. That's pretty much the gist of it. I could handle any two of those well enough, probably, but add in the other three, and it's gotten to be too much.

I feel you, going through them a little:
Khador has always been the no-trickery faction.we have them but not on the level of Haley2 and Denny2 back in mk2.
What makes this worse is that with perfect awareness (premeasuring) you can't really "outplay" someone anymore. Tge biggest concern is still that we were a combined arms, mixed approach faction
And they cut it up into cookie cutter lists.
Armored Corps was fantastic and I hoped that it would be the standard for the game, except it wasn't: everyone just gets giant piles of bullshit and our stuff is "decent, just solid."
And then there's shit like Legion of Steel, I'm not even sure it's unreasonable to think they are just going to let that lie.
Even so, you have players.
I haven't really played a local game since summer last year,my local group just lost interest, couldn't be arsed to do anything and after just mass-quitting a Blood Bowl league because they found it to difficult I decided it wasnt worth my time anymore to host that crap.
All that is left in is a few pockets of 40k/aos/fow/other players.
And yeah, politics can be draining.

I'm hoping that when this whole COVID malarkey gets resolved Brawlmachine will become more popular. The quicker games and active banning of things deemed to be too powerful are huge positives in my eyes

I can't wait to play it in person after COVID.

Same! I love BM and I hope it will help me pull in some other players. Im just bummed that "proper" Infernals cant be played bc I started collecting and painting them just before covid. Id kinda suck to play almost only BM and not being able to use my new faction.
Still, Im happy I can play Kozlov or WoW without having to buy and paint 5 identical units.

Yay! I brought Wendan back!
Also, sorry Wendan: I guess Steam's messaging service pooped its pants in the middle of our conversation.
