USPS heard me talking shit about their suspicious e-mail and now they're just gonna hold on to my package at the local post office for a while, apparently.

An interim base size would work nicely in WM as well. For some things; lighter Battle ENgines or "superheavy jacks".

For some things; lighter Battle ENgines or "superheavy jacks". not a big fan of the idea of superheavies, to be honest. that's arcadey thinking again, but I prefer the idea that the absolute top of the scale for heavy 'jacks is Behemoth, and from there the only way you can feasibly go bigger is if you make the chassis a colossal. It doesn't actually make sense if you think about it, since colossals are really just scaled up warjacks, but sshhhhh. don't think about it too hard. could be cool for 'beasts, though. Light battle engines also sound cool on paper, but I get the feeling the game would evolve from Warmachine to Warengine even faster than it already is.

80mm is probably a good base size for a small vehicle, but I would be happy if they don't go any bigger.

80mm is probably a good base size for a small vehicle, but I would be happy if they don't go any bigger. Man, I can’t tell you how excited I am that model designs and types of models are no longer constrained to given base sizes! We can have vehicles on 120mm bases, or light or heavy warjacks on 80mm bases, or heck, even maybe some Empyrean warjacks on 40/30mm bases! Warcaster is finally poised to break the cross-faction forced model parity in Warmachine! One faction’s 80mm long-ranged shooter can be a heavy warjack, while another’s can be a fast attack vehicle (with vehicle rules and different pilots and weapon mounts!), or maybe even (looking veeeery long-term) some sort of aircraft ‘jack or something! It’s not required to be “You got a colossal, so I get a colossal, and they get colossals too” anymore!

Hah! Is the post office still holding onto your original shipment? Yep. It's been in-transit from the downtown post office to my local post office for seven days. I'm waiting to hear back on what's going on with it so it can either get on its way or at this point I'd be willing to just go and get it.

Quick update:
My second batch of Monpoc dinos have been sitting in the painting forum for two days with no comments. Motivating.
Today I finished assembling the pony model at last. I thought of posting a photo but decided to wait until it's painted (so next year).
A few days ago I played a game of 9th ed 40K on Table Top Simulator. I derived no pleasure from the experience, but at least now I can say that I tried it.
About a week ago the replacement part for my CNC mill arrived. I installed the part, but when I tried to log in to the Chilipeppr server that I use as control software for the mill, the website seemed to be down. Well, today it finally came back up, and I was able to mill a battery holder:
Not very impressive I know, but hey: something something leave me alone. I still need to cut another one, and then they need to be cleaned up of course, but the good news is I can start working on my Karchev again now. Well, I would be able to if my holiday wasn't over. It's back to not having any time to hobby for me!

GW has plenty of good games but honestly, their flagships generally aren't.
Especially coming from WMH, Adeptus Titanicus is pretty good from what I have read. Blood Bowl is fun in a league.
40k 9th ed is allegedly pretty good but like AoS I just find it... Shallow.

Yeah, I can't really say this to the local 40k crowd, but... "This guy has strength 10 and with this strategum he makes 8 attacks, and the captain lets him re-roll hits and the lieutenant lets him reroll wounds!" just doesn't excite me. I mean, he has high numbers, great. The most interesting rules I've seen in 40K are "models get re-rolls".
I just always feel like "Is that it? Is that all there is in this game?". I'm sure there's more to it than what I'm seeing, but... yeah, I can't go back from Warmachine.
I was starting to get the local gaming group to understand Warmachine, giving demo games and such, but then Corona happened, and everyone, bored and isolated at home, got super excited about 9th and started ordering all the starter sets and stuff. I doubt anyone is going to be too interested in dropping cash on WMH for a while.
Well, we'll see what happens when we get to meet up again. I'm slowly assembling more Khador and Mercs (and Monpoc stuff), so I can at least provide models for small/medium point games.

[/div][/quote] I saw your Terrasaurs, but did not comment. I think they looked pretty good, especially for speed jobs!

Driving home after a very long shift just now, and for some reason a live rooster has just escaped from the restaurant across from my building and run across the road in front of my car. I have so many questions.
