Good job. Any progress is good progress. I worked today as I often do. A patient died of covid-19 so idk. I’m just appreciating those of us still here tonight. Happy to still have my close friends and family. That is unfortunate. I really, really hope people get their crap together. I would also hope that natural selection weeds out only those people too willfully ignorant* to follow quarantine procedures, but I am saddened by the fact that it doesn’t actually work that way. You know, I should go to bed now. * The gubmint can’t tell me what to do! Murica!** ** I rolled my eyes so hard at that, because I know some people actually think that way, that it kind of hurt.

Something something something Warcaster.
I expect everyone to have fully-painted armies by the time this whole thing is over.

What I'm going to have when this is all over is a nervous breakdown... I promised myself I was going to go back to painting that Freebooter and the Spriggan (that have both been sitting around half-painted for roughly seven hundred and fifty eight years) this past weekend, but the demo at work the day before went poorly so that didn't happen.

I'm only a few models away from having all 5 of my Blood Bowl teams painted, which will be the first time in any miniature game that I have a 100% painted collection. My Warmachine is... significantly further behind. I'm not too far away from having all my large-based models painted, though. EDIT: Nope, forgot the Uhlans and co., so I've got more than a dozen left to go. EDIT2: Tankers! Yeah, no, I'm miles behind.

I haven't painted a Warmachine model in about...six months? Eight months? My spirit was sufficiently crushed after something like my 18th straight loss with Wolves of Winter. Favorable scenarios? Loss. Supposedly favorable matchups for Doom Reavers? Loss. Dude who hadn't played in literally 8 years, and bought a single 75-point list, and won solely on the strength of archons? Loss.
I've been working solely on MonPoc for quite some time now. Well, MonPoc and Warcaster terrain. I've had Khador models on my desk for a really, really long time, and I just have zero motivation to paint them or play. I just got worn down by every other faction getting ludicrous new shinies, while we got...not that. Mediocre changes that, to a 3-edition veteran like me, reeked of "Be overly conservative lest we repeat the Khador ascendancy of old." Wolves of Winter compares to Tharn, how...? Seriously, people.
Gah.
Anyway. Something or the other.
I'm not actually as upset as I sound, believe it or not.

Bought the new Battletech starter, gotta say the minis are a... substantial improvement.
Still waiting on the crucial piece of my to-be LCAF recon lance :v

to be perfectly honest I've almost entirely lost my interest in WMH, beyond the design aspect. Once lockdown's fully over and I can go to game nights again it'll probably come back, but these past few months I've been completely busy with work, studying and drawing. Minis just aren't a priority.

Minis just aren't a priority. Yeah, it's hard to stay motivated when you don't get games in. Before the world just stopped I was trying to balance Warmachine and building up for a Zone Raiders campaign; I've been accumulating models and 3D printer assets for the campaign, but between work, isolation, and fasting (and running low on printer supplies) even that has tapered off.

The last time I painted a WM model was early 2017. Right around the last time I played a game. That said, even though I had 6 armies, most of what I had was painted. I fielded fully painted lists often.
Over the past year + I’ve been painting D&D minis but I’ve even slowed down with that. I’ve found it’s hard to concentrate when I’m this anxious and stressed all the time.

You do what you can but you are not responsible for everyone. Something something something Warcaster. I expect everyone to have fully-painted armies by the time this whole thing is over. Thanks. I do what I can. It’s hard when it’s my job to help and care about a lot of people. Another person in our care died about two weeks ago and that was tough. She wasn’t much older than me. Soooo I had a breakdown at work and yeah, it’s been rocky.
The last week hasn’t been so bad though.
Oh! I should add something positive haha
Hrmmm
Well I watched the Swedish ‘Girl with the Dragon tattoo’ a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Plus it helped me practice my Swedish a bit. So that was fun.

Ya know, i didn’t think of it like that but yeah that’s definitely where we are in the timeline xD
Of course it wasn’t that it was uplifting so much as it just drew me into the story and I actually forgot about the real world for a time. 💖
