Thanks. I do what I can. It’s hard when it’s my job to help and care about a lot of people. Another person in our care died about two weeks ago and that was tough. She wasn’t much older than me. Soooo I had a breakdown at work and yeah, it’s been rocky. The last week hasn’t been so bad though. Oh! I should add something positive haha Hrmmm Well I watched the Swedish ‘Girl with the Dragon tattoo’ a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Plus it helped me practice my Swedish a bit. So that was fun. It's easy to rationalise it when the anonymous old and infirm die 'on TV', when it hits closer it stops being a theoretical danger and becomes a threat. Must be rough standing so close to the firing line, and seeing people close to your age fall over really dents that subconscious feeling of immortality that being young-ish gives you. Had my own moment a few years ago when I found out an old acquaintance had died two years prior. Barely made 30. It sucks.

That sucks man. I hope you've been enjoying the Monpoc at least? Thanks. I appreciate it! MonPoc is fun, but I probably picked the wrong agenda if I want to win games. Oz seems to be giving Destroyers all the good rules. As a Protectors player, I feel like I’ve been fighting an uphill battle since roughly the third wave of factions released. Defender X doesn’t hold a candle to Destroyer releases like Gallamaxus. Heck, even Krakenoctus, one of the acknowledged top-tier monsters in the game, feels wildly outclassed by absolute “win button” rules like Inner Fire on that guy. Is it possible that I just need to look within and up my game and blah blah blah? Sure, I guess. But, like... considering that like 75% of my locals play only Destroyers, I think there’s something real here. (And I’m not even touching the hyper-encapsulated Discord opinions. Nothing against those players, but they’re on the bonkers bleeding edges of the game and their observations are hyper-specific to what they encounter. Don’t try to argue that Inner Fire (5 power dice for 1 damage) on Gallamaxus is balanced because “you only have to throw him through two buildings to kill him when he uses it.” I’ve been in dozens of games where a sudden extra 5 P-dice would have enabled me to double-throw an opponent and kill one of their monsters outright and win the game. That dinky single point of damage doesn’t matter if your opponent suddenly has one dead monster and no power dice generation because you just threw his dude into the last buildings he controlled.) Eh...anyway. Something?

A friend that I had known since high school, killed himself when we were 22. I’m 33 now and I still think about him. I don’t know if it ever gets easier, but it does give a lot to think about anyway. I’m trying my best and doing what I can to help people and stay sane. Mixed results so far, haha

It’s been a long time coming. The USA is overdue for a good revolution.
And hay, maybe I’ll get to declare refuge status and move to a modern country.

All the forums are pretty dead these days huh?
Last week I randomly put together Kozlov on a whim, even though I don't find him interesting or have any desire to try him. Dunno, have you guys tried him? What's your opinion on how entertaining he is to play? Is he at least a better choice than Butcher1 for handing to beginners for intro games? Guessing not: there's a certain sparkle you notice in a new player's eyes when they get to roll five damage dice with Butcher and take off half a jack's damage grid with one attack...
I've finally started working on my Karchev conversion (not sure why really). It's going to have one of my light-up bases. Problem is one of the tools I use to make those bases just broke. Might be a good time to figure out a better way of doing things actually; my old method was pretty primitive, I should be able to do better now. I'm also thinking of trying to print some replacement legs as part of the conversion; there's a specific pose I'm gong for.
My local gaming group are going on and on about 9th 40K and I just can't be bothered to pay any attention at all. I tried to get into 8th but didn't have the time. Or interest to be honest; I just don't like 40Ks abtsracted rule set and prefer more direct systems where each attach is resolved individually, like, I dunno, every other game I've ever tried or read about. Also the whole "each roll is a single D6" thing is really limiting for modifying dice; there's just not enough range. In fact it seems like in 9th they are limited dice modification to a total of +1 or -1, so even less range. And army building and game setup rules seem to be getting even more complicated, which is something that I already had trouble with in 8th (and you all know I don't even play themes in WMH). So yeah, not even gonna bother with 9th. Sorry Grey Knights, I know I said I was going to actually put you guys together this time, seems I was lying again.
Something something new Infinity something.

I don’t think people are generally playing games so there’s not a whole lot to talk about.
I’ve never used Kozlov. He came out right around when I started playing fewer games and never ran into him.
Also never played 40k. So idk.
I have played Infinity! But I didn’t really like it, haha
These days I mostly play D&D over roll20 and discord on my days off. We just started Descent into Avernus. I’ve not even painted much. The last thing was the pathfinder Hydra about two weeks ago. I was considering commissioning an artists to make a digital painting of my d&d character from my previous campaign though.

I have played several hundred games with Kozlov. He’s a very, very solid battlegroup box caster. He’s basically the best Journeyman League caster out of all the starter boxes (in my opinion) up until the 25/35 point week.
He’s missing something— just a tiny little something — to make him a perpetual A-level caster. Free charges during feat turn, to help out his battlegroup with efficiency? A smidge more personal output, like Rapid Strike on himself? Powerful Charge?
I am not sure. All I know is that I have played waaaay too many games with him. I hate the detail-less plastic used and wish — although much less than I wished 4 years ago — they would release him in a different material.
Koslov’s problem — if you can call it that — is that he’s a solid B or B+ caster...in a game with S+ casters and models.
Anyway...stuff?

Seconding michael there; he's almost brilliant. He can do a little bit of everything, and everything he does works, but you do feel that he lacks a defining element.
I've run him in most themes, and he just makes everything tick nicely.

but you do feel that he lacks a defining element I think this is what I felt subconsciously when I read his rules, and is probably why I don't find him interesting.

I have played Infinity! But I didn’t really like it, haha A friend and I played a couple of the starter missions but didn't find them very well balanced (in that one faction was just stronger in the given scenarios than the other). Also there's a part, the third mission maybe, where they introduce one new ability, and then have a page and a half of rules for how that one ability works, and I just felt like there was something wrong there. I mean, if a single rule needs that much to describe how it works, then I think something has gone wrong with the way the rules have been written, you know? It's not... elegant, I guess? We are still interested in Infinity, but we shelved the game for the time being due to the announcement of the new edition. Personally I'm a little more interested in using the Infinity minis for Zone Raiders, but when my FDM printer died while printing terrain for that, I lost my momentum. I haven't given up hope, but I have put it on hold. Also that pony mini I posted about last year finally arrived (took like 6 or 7 months to get here...), so I've been eyeing up Khador minis to decide who will ride him. I think my decision will not surprise anyone...

I have a vague familiarity with 40K, and I'm reading all the changes, and absolutely none of it means anything at all to me.
Well, except for the bit about how all armies would eventually get a new codex, and how they'll be released sequentially.
So, business as usual for GW, it seems. Chase the newest OP toys, boys! Chase 'em! Yeeehaw!

Hah! That's good, but no, it's going to be even stupider than that - if it ever actually happens of course...
