So reading through the forms it has been the general consensus that you should try and pick of one of each of the new releases as they all have their place but I was wondering if anyone had any advice for some of us players who can not devote as much money to the hobby. What would you consider to be the most important things to pick up if you could only get 3-4 things. The Fane Knight Guardian but beyond that I don't know what else to get.

It really is a matter of preference, absolutely nothing that was released in the command book is necessary. So I would pass the question back to you and ask, what looks the most fun to you? What do you think you will enjoy playing the most?

Well, the things that stand out to me are:
- Fane Knight Guardian: This is a good attachment period. - Hemera: I think that this character jack is worth picking up due to the sheer amount of utility it brings. I don't love it with Hyllena, but I do think there's enough potential here where its at least worth talking about. - House Shyeel Arcanists : I wouldn't run these in place of the Arcanist Mechanik solos, but more like as a package of this unit and maybe one or two mechanik solos. Vyros2, Hylenna, and Rahn I think like these a lot - Ryssovas Defenders: This is the standout unit out of the two, just because with Defensive Line, they are DEF 14 in melee and not trivial to remove. I think they offer enough to where they could be an interesting include. I don't like them better than Sentinels, but I think they're a little harder to remove on non-mini-feat turns (also tough and no knockdown on base unit) - Elara2: Out of the two, this is the caster I would get (if you don't have her already). Her overall package is just straight up better than Goreshade4 (who has no damage buff to speak of, and is thematically confused). Also the fact that her feat gives Ghostly, so if they try to jam your entire army, she's likely to be better at dealing with that than Goreshade4 is.
Those are probably what I'd look at.

Hemera, Elara2, Fane Knight, in that order.

My defensive striking friends, followed by a unit of Gore4. I really like him despite the forum consensus. After that I'll grab a unit of spears and mechanics. The spears have grown on me. Plus, while I don't like the mechanics (I feel like they are lacking a cool unique Jack action), the extra focus for Jack lists will be great

If you want the most play time for money, surely the 'casters will be the best investment? Go for Elara2 and Gyrrshyld first and add other things if/when you find that you really need them.
If you already have a favourite 'caster or Theme Force in mind, theme priorities might change. I really want the Arcanist Unit for Forges of War and the Spears of Scyrah for Shadows of the Retribution, for example.

I'd probably skip Goreshade4. He's a toolbox caster who is too spread out thematically (and gameplay wise) to be worth getting right now. His spell list confuses me as well, but *shrugs* we'll see.
I would definitely get Elara2 though if you haven't already.
