fiona only have 27 wjp. also y no toro? also y no talion. dis a talion thread... Sea dogs are interesting. The steelhead cannon is okay too I guess. Has anyone actually tried whether befuddle+countercharge is worth it? I tried 2 games with Fiona yesterday under solider of fortune theme. I will say that befuddle + countercharge is totally worth it. In one game, I power lifter 2" then my jack run 10" then befuddle 3" my enemy and counter charge a battle engine. I cant kill it by a single warjack, but I jammed it with the help of Fiona feat, it surrvie enemy turn without a problem.

Once they are jammed, feat/ghostwalk to moveout and bomb, shoot with Gastone, & Galleon, if your enemy still there, let the knight complete their job.

If you re playing Ashlynn in LR, u need something that can crack armor. Mercenaries units totally cant help, so you can just reply on the jack or Cygnar/Menoth hard hitting unit.
I tried a game yesterday with Galleon, 2 Vanguards and 2 unit of Knights Exemplar. The result is much better that i expected. Galleon & KM solve Ashlynn hitting problem. Quicken/Gallows/Drag solve KM short leg problem.
I will always move Ashlynn to the front to cast Gallows and Distraction. Therefore i need 2 Vanguards and with 2 shield guard, our theme rubble and 17 def. Its not a easy task to kill her in a single turn. Galleons maybe overpriced but its firing power and drag help me answer a lot of problems that cant be slove before.

I think much longer as cryx dark host is really really tough to beat. **** After game though - Thorn Gun Mages, I dont know how to fully utlitize it and end up they are doing nothing - Holy Zealots, the main source of my soul and good firing power against low def model - Knight Exemplar, 18/20Arm with tough + Pathfinder make them good. If they can charge with the mini-feat, they hit like truck. - Gastone, with enough soul he is a super, without soul hs is rubblish

Gastonne does bastions better than Protectorate. Also Zealots, my frd who play Protectorate already say that Llaelese retraining those 2-tier Menoth Unit into 1-tier haha.

I played the game twice with Gastone. Lifebound is not just for shield guard thats the way you collect soul. So a multi-wound high arm unit make you hard to get soul. Zealots are great for this. Just give +3 ARM and tough to Bastion but i prefer using Knight Exemplar much more. Bastions are the best target for Dauntless, by a wide margin. They love the plus 3 armor and tough, of course, but when you combine that with a Hot Meal from Gibbs, you have a unit that just doesn't go away. This ability is huge in SR, so for me, a Zealots/Bastions combo is how I am currently making my Crosse builds Bastions are number 1 option if you want to defense your zone. Dont forget Tough and FD from Gibbs too.

ChocoI was giving my thoughts on bastion/Lifebound, but by all means please try out other combinations. If you focus on the granted Shieldguard ability , a multi-wound high-armor unit as target does make sense after all. I played the game twice with Gastone. I will try Ashlynn with 2 Buccaneer + 2 Vanguard Dirty Meg, Freebooter, Lanyssa Its threat range can start from 9" to 15" (Quicken, Jury-Rigged, Hunter's Mark) Against KD, Flanked target it hit 5d6 with charge. With the support of Alexia1, I believe I can summon and run a thrall warrior to anywhere the Freebooter needed to.
I believe Magnus1 and MacBain can be a good support caster even for those Jack Marshaling, just remember go with Lanyssa you will love the Hunter's Mark with JackMarshal

Tried my Irregular theme today. JackMarshal + Talon surprised me. I believe my opponent will try their best to hunt down Rutger & Dirty Meg. With flank it charge hit 4d6+15 & 3d6+10 or Crush 2 x (3d6+15) & 3d6+12

I honestly don't see much, if any, value in the Choir for The Resistance. Sure they're amazing in Protectorate but that's because of (in my opinion and limited experience playing against them) everything else Protectorate has access to and the number of jacks used. The casters for the Resistance aren't using many jacks; MacBain might be the exception (I don't know anything about Caine3 in mercs as I've never put him on the table, but I know it's a favorite to run a Galleon with him). I think more value is gained by the other units (Trenchers, Lances, etc.) that synergize or benefit from our casters' upkeeps or other spells. At its heart, I think that the Resistance will play more infantry; taking the better combat units rather than support units will take the theme farther on the table. That's what I am thinking of when using Ashlynn. Warjack is not the key to success when playing with Ashlynn, another hard hitting unit will be much better when using Ashlynn. I will still give Choir when using MacBain / any caster with Galleon. Actually Trencher, Stormblade, Lancer are also good ideas, but I just simply dont like Cygnar models so I will try Flame Bringer or Daughter of Flame as second PoM unit.

Idle curiosity, is anyone even considering Menoth choices? I keep looking at them and trying to make anything but choir seem worthwhile and...fail. Tried 2 games with Ashlynn, Choir and Knights Exemplar. Knights are great with Quicken (All meleer are great with Quicken!!) They did a great job, just make sure they didnt die, 12def 15arm are just too paper nowaday. Go with a piper, hide in forest and get tough. Choir ok the other hand, not as great as i expected. Maybe i need more warjact to fully ulitize them. I will try zealots when Gastone2 go live. Also i wanna try Quicken flame bringer

If the irregular theme list really go live like this, I cant think of any reason not to use it. No affordable shield guards. GL with that with every other merc player now getting a free eiryss 1. I still cant think why the irregular theme list isnt better. If you use non-theme list, OGRUN BOKUR is just a 5 pts solo. I agree its cheap but as non-theme list you dont have any free solo. Now you can have 3 or 4 free solo, so why dont you just use a Vanguard which cause you 11 pts, but end up you will have 3 free solo to compensate the extra 6 pts you have paid.

What I am thinking is to use Drake MacBain 1) CounterMeasure + feat to jam them for a turn and move prepare to charge them with your jack next turn. 2) Freebooter + CounterMeasure is another good combo to jam, you can run 14" to jam them 2) If AXIS feat, use Energenizer + Run & Jackhammer, your nomad can still hit something within 10".
