Hi all,
I´m out of the game for more tan a year now but I want to start that lovely game once more...
The last faction I played was Minions and I was about to start Skorne as a second faction (before everyone here quit the game) therefore I own a lot of Minions and some Skorne models. My Skorne collection consists of
Xerxis 2 Desert Hydra unit of paingivers
With that and my love for Jalaam I thought I could start Disciples of Agony to broaden my experience with beast heavy Minions (I used to play a lot of Dr. Arkadius and Carver beast lists).
Has anyone experience running Disciples of Agony with lots of Minion beasts (especially the Farrow ones, though I also own two Wrastlers)? Any advice concerning beast heavy Disciples of Agony? Is there a special warlock I should have a look at?
Thanks in advance

I dont have any experience playing X2 as I dont own him, but I've played a fair bit of DoA with minions since I play minions as well. Jalaam can be a fun warlock in DoA and he likes the pig heavies. The Skorne heavies that hit hard tend to have low defense and the heavies with high defense dont tend to hit very hard, so it is hard to get good synergy with his feat with skorne battlegroups alone. Base Def 12 and the pig heavies let's his feat protect them and swing attrition heavily in your favor. Jalaam does not have any damage fixers in his spell list and sometimes enrage alone is not enough so heavies that bring their own buff, like the warhog, or play jalaams mobility game, like the roadhog, are good. With warpath, rush (you'll want a gladiator or wait for the terrorizer if you dont already own one), and speed dial they can threat 16 inches in melee and 26 with the assault spray. One last thing on Jalaam with a lot of heavies is to be mindful of your opponents ability to send a boosted or auto hitting KD,stationary, or paralysis attacks on your heavies as they effectively negate your feat.
If you were looking to expand into DoA with minion infantry or combined arms builds Morg 2, Xekaar, Rasheth, and Makeda 1 are all good options with xekaar and morg 2 bringing a damage and accuracy fixer, Rasheth focusing on raw damage, and makeda 1's feat makes it really difficult for your opponent to remove your army unless they brought a lot of anti healing tech. It is a lot easier to deliver pig infantry in DoA than it is in thornfall thanks to having access to the gobber bellows crew and gatorman husks.

X2 is a very good beast heavy warlock. The +2 SPD on battle group is great, and that makes for a very mobile Hydra as well. He feat is good with Hydra and basically anyone (Minion/Skorne beasts as well) as it fixes accuracy and damage with the add one / drop one on all rolls. Those are ranged or melee BTW, so it has a myriad of uses.
Of note is the better chance for criticals with X2 feat, especially when boosted, so something like a War or Road Hog (Gore - Crit Knockdown) or Swamp Horror (Beak - Crit Amp) should get extra notice.
DoA has a lot of options and combos on paper, so the best way is to try them out! Also, Jalaam is a good beast warlock as well. Warpath is very sweet with a Beatbacking Bronzeback (the surf is real), I could see a Battle Boar getting great use out of that as well.

Thanks for your answers!
I had a deeper look at my collection and found out that I own
Xerxis 2 Hydra 2 full units of Beasthandlers
Seems to me that I already own a good bunch of models for diving into DoA.
Some more questions though: - What additional support pieces do X2 and/or Jalaam need? - Is Zaadesh1 mandatory or at least recomended? - What about Archons? I don´t know anything about them but they seem to be the new hot shit. Do I need them? Which one?

Titan Gladiators, Basilisk kreas and agonizers are good in a lot of places. X2 really wants spiny growth (from a rhinodon, razor worm, or bull snapper in DoA) and Jalaam really wants far strike (from a titan cannoneer or cyclops raider). While not mandatory blood runner master tormentors are really good solos. Willbreakers are good even in beasts lists for their rerolls and beast master is a godsend in scenarios with zones on the flanks.
Zaadesh 1 is a good choice in the current steamroller for controlling a flank zone, especially with x2's small control range outside of his feat turn. He isn't mandatory but is useful to have. Just be aware that he is somewhat easy to snipe.
As for archons the only one that works for skorne is the void archon, and it is really good. You can take 2 in both DoA and Exalted do they are worth investing in. Most notable about them is their anti healing aura, dark shroud, and his teleport ability.
