I want to start a Skorne army because I love the fluff and the models. I am a long time Khador player and I absolutely love Khaddor, but I want to start a Hordes army. I'm planning on buying the Skorne battlebox, my LGS has them pretty cheap, to start me off. I am wondering how does Skorne play in mk3? Whats the playstyle like with Skorne, is it similar to Khador or different? =)

The Skorne playstyle is probably rather similar to that of Khador in that we often play the "honest attrition" game. I'd put us slightly more to the left of the Finesse<--->Power scale, simply because we cannot play for attrition as well as Khador or Protectorate.
I'm divided on the starter box. I do not own it but it is an okay deal, especially if highly discounted. The Gladiator is a staple but you will probably not use any of the other models all that often. The Savage is niche as is the Raider (makes a nice package with a Shaman though) and Xekaar is - in my personal opinion - hot garbage.
Other things you will want early on: - A unit of Beast Handlers. - A Warlock of your choice. - A unit of Karax. - A titan set (magnatized for maximum value).

Speaking of which, I'd recommend discount games if you're looking for the beasts of the starter box - you get all 3 for cheaper than a gladiator. www.discountgamesinc.com/hordes/opened-used/titan-gladiator-cyclops-raider-cyclops-savage-used-unassembled.html

Oh yes, if you can get the all-in-one, do so NOW. I didn't think of it because they're not available around here, but if you are in the US, that's the correct way of starting Skorne.

It's also worth looking around for shops that still have the MkII Skorne starter box. I picked up a bunch of them for 20AUD each and just built all the Titans instead of magnetising them. Plus Morghoul1 is solid, too.

and finally the honest guy x.x;
Skorne is more like Menoth than like Khador. If you are looking for a resilient army that you can bash skulls in without having to worry about the loss of a beast or two, I'd recommend Legion or Trolls. Skorne is a complex game of fury management and support stacking.
