To revigorate this thread a bit.
There is a Vlad 1 List from the Welsh Masters which broke Theme for 2 Seers and Behemoth, which is quite interesting to me.
Is that Boat really that good? I haven't tested it, but I see it more and more.
BTW Armchair Warrior, we think alike. I build the exact same List for testing, because I always wanted to try Vlad1 Rockets and the Fun Carriage.

You are spending a 3rd of your points to take two Seers with Behemoth out of theme. I really can't see it being worth while.

I have been running that lately. With some of the drives and Signs and Portents and a dedicated 2 Focus, the Behemoth is a very good mobile artillery unit. Later on, if the opportunity presents itself he can become a bit of surprise boundless charge target and wreck almost anything you throw him at with 2 Focus and Crush, getting 5 attacks at plus 2 damage. It is a lot of points though.

Next step - 2 seers, behemoth and WGAK. That will be really a killer package: treat 22" effective RAT10 fully boosted and blessed. Very expensive though.

The boat is good, but I think it works better in Jaws unless you really really hate incorporeal in your Vlad list. Also going out of theme will cost you all the artillery, at least 1 min rocket unit and advance move which pretty much makes playing Vlad 1 worse than playing Vlad 2 since you won't have good usage of Vlad 1's feat and s&p. But Vlad 2 really rounds out the list with his cloud removal, add Spriggan and it'll be the ultimate counter everything shooting list.

Take Vlad2 out of theme. Sadly it doesn't fit MOW, WGRC and Seer Boat.

If you want the Behemoth boat, take Jaws. With Vlad 1 rocketspam I just can't see losing all that advance move and free artillary.

Has anyone tried the artillerist instead of rockets for a longer range punch yet ? I am thinking mortar and field guns
I wonder if we will get any heavy artillery to go with the artillerist as well? In the fluff for the gun carriage it says Khador loves big guns and thick armor wondering if we might eventually get something like the commodore for pirates which would be very nice

I think you get the artillery for free. As for the solo. I wouldn't cut rockets for it. Rockets are love, Rockets are life!
Another question: Matchups!
How does Vlad 1 WG-Theme play into Cygnar? Currently looking at him in a pairing and not sure if he is something I want to drop into cygnar or not

He IS the cygnar drop. The only thing he has problem with (out of the popular takes) is Haley3. Also when you see a Collossal opposite - it comes very much 50/50 match. You need to understand that rockets can't kill him reliably. You need to ensure at least one full marauder gets to him. Better - two.

Ah thx. I wasn't sure since I started with vlad but quickly changed casters. I am now picking him up again and was sure he was crazy good, but not really into what. That makes my thought process a lot easier. The Collossal thing was something I was aware of. But Marauders are some of my faovurite Jacks already

In what matchups is vlad rockets a really bad matchup? He does exactly nothing to stealth spam/cloud wall. Also as a specific example - Baldur2 typical list - def 18 beasts just don't get hit by rockets...
