The Hammerstrike insider finally dropped 3 weeks after Oz teased that he was basically done writing it. Here are the crib notes as to the incoming Hammerstrike and Rhulic changes.
Hammerstrike - Kept the +2" deployment and gained being able to take the Tactical Arcanist Corps (TAC) as a free option. The rest is the same.
Rhulic - Earhbreaker went from 38pts to 35pts and went from spd 4 to spd 5 - Avalancher went from 17pts to 15pts - Ogrun Assault Corps went from 16pts to 13pts - TAC went from 7pts to 5pts - High Shields went from 16pts for a max unit to 15pts and their UA went from 5pts to 4pts
Personal Thoughts - Love the changes to the Avalancher and Earthbreaker. Both make them way easier to play and fit into lists - Love that the Driller and Spray Bunnies didnt go up in points - I really like that the TAC is only 5pts
- I really hope that the High Shields gained more than just a super minor points drop. My biggest issue is that their UA gives them an order that is essentially repo 4". I wish they would just change it to Tactics: Reposition 3" so they could shield guard and reposition and leave the rest. - Even if the OAC were dropped to 10pts with their current rules I dont think I would ever take them. Low pow blasts, zero survivability and poor stats make them not the greatest choice. Compare them to CG Storm Troopers or the Ogrun Boarding party and there is honestly nothing to compare.
Overall I a relatively happy. I was hoping for a few more solo options in the theme as having no real access to magic weapons or any kind of damage buffs hurts a bit. Ah well, still stoked to bust out some new lists. What is everyone else's thoughts? Happy? Unhappy?

I don't play dwarves, but from an outside perspective I think the only meaningful change is the colossal and avalancher change. OAC and high shields still seem lack luster. The arcanists always seem cool, but they're slow and squishy. Free/5 points isnt a terrible deal, guess it comes down to available points.

Insane buffs, going to wtc with double Hammerstrike Awesome! Basically my pairing has always been dwarf casters, but mostly in Irregulars (Gorten with all the dudes for example). I am looking at the changes and I really want to do double hammerstrike as a pairing...but I am at a loss for who/what to pair with Ossrum. Any suggestions?

Gorten and Durgen are both viable. The free TAC option will be used a lot.

Doesn't really look all that appealing to me unless playing Ossrum. Soldiers of Fortune looks better for Durgen and Gorten, imo.

tanan is the hero we all deserve I've been having decent success with double Hammerstrike. It and The Resistance are about all I enjoy in Mercs

The final rules for Holdemhigh are on Warroom, looks pretty good to me.

The final rules for Holdemhigh are on Warroom, looks pretty good to me. He solves the magical weapon problem in Hammerstrike. Overall, I think he'll replace Taryn in my Irregulars lists where I need Shadowfire.

Holdemhigh has awesome rules. I mean, AD, pathfinder, prowl, 4 x shots RNG 12 POW 12 with RAT 7 and different attack types... He will be an auto-take in hammerstrike and even maybe in Irregular.
Bamfist's force barrer has an interesting combo with Prime for Durgen. He is probably still better in SoF, but now in HS I can charge my primed FG all packed together in limited space now.

The theme changes are OK, Free TAC is interesting, cheaper Avalancher and colossal is good, OAC and HS point changes arent enough to make med worthwhile though. Thor + Avalancher went from 21 to 15 pts... thats very nice I think the general changes to themes that allows you to build a combined arms list with both infantry and jacks are what really makes Hammerstrike interesting.

I think the big win here are that there are now options. It's not "Play ossrum in one of 2 very ways or don't play it at all". The new solos, the point decreases, and free TAC option are huge. TAC are super underrated because of how overcosted they were, but at free? There's a lot of upside there.

Yeah, it really feels like, more than anything, there are least options to try some of the other Rhulic stuff in the theme, as opposed to the same lists, over and over.
