8 point Valkyries, if allowed still, provide more value (Shield Guard) than Runeshapers for my army as far as I can anticipate. Runeshapers, with no change to their abilities, don't provide a tactical advantage OPTION that cannot be accomplished by nearly any other unit, except perhaps anti-Incorporeal. Give Runeshapers Herding and then we're talking!

i will never encourage PP by purchasing that model, so maybe that's our disconnect. Encourage them to do what? Put out more Troll models? That model, if it is even remotely like the art, is terrible, and you won't convince me otherwise. I think you are in Europe based on other places I've seen you post, yes? Maybe you've never had the pleasure of an American trailer dweller. Replace that staff with a Coors can and paint a tramp stamp on the back end and that is EXACTLY what you have there.

I mean, if you dislike models and that's important to you then absolutely fair enough. If I where in your shoes I'd probably consider converting them if I disliked the models so much. They are very similar to Swamp Trolls and Dhunian Knot so I think it wouldn't be that hard.

That said, I don't really see it. Are trailer park dwellers really big and green? Are they nose-less, covered in wood and foliage? Do they have horns and carry large rock axes? Do they look like huge feminine frog people?
I can see someone hating the asthetic, but I can't understand that same person wanting to play trolls. Like, so much of that art concept is shared with the rest of our faction.
The weapon reminds me of the Doomy3's staff, Ragnor's hammer or the Northkin Shaman The overall body shape reminds me of Calandra or the Dhunian Knot. There is a theme of buxom women tied to the God Dhunia which we have seen a few time. Almost as if she is a bountiful representation of the harvest and fertility. There's also the scrolls and maybe it's just the green and lack of nose, but I see a clear aesthetic link to the Swamp troll.
That said I see links to Circle, I see the Horns and the cloak, while similar to the Northkin cloaks is more of a circle asthetic.
All that said, if you dislike it and it's good, make a conversion with PP models. It's all completely legal.

Stone and Mortar Stance. I can't think of a Trollier stubborn ability then that. Appropriate to Runeshapers rock manipulation fluff. Small unit. ARM 20, independent of KSB, but only if they don't move or don't attack. Can operate to contest or hold a zone far away from the PoD warbeast brick. And we don't have a Harbinger to keep 'em ever present. Oh wait, Archon

Would definitely incentivise me to take a unit or two.

So, right now the only reason to play PoD is that you get access to Runeshapers and Knot. At a glance, i think those are not good enough reasons, but tests should be focused on including these things, right? Otherwise you might as well play another theme.
Okok, Mulg is a thing too, but obly for non-doomshaper casters...

Given you can bring mercs, the archon + whelps can be nice to have.

My first tought for the changes were: use Ragnor and some heavy Infantry/Cavalry for profit. Now I keep coming back to: I want welps for free, I want puppet master on my rat6 Spells and Spellslaves, I want that Mulg Arcnode and super high pow damage output.
Also needing Rush, Rage and also really wanting a Bomber (unless Theme X gives you reliable ranged presence) limits these choices a lot!
I see casters like Grissel 2 oder Doomie 1 (maybe3) profiting the most from a Beast heavy SoTN or BoH right now.
