Hi there!
I'm hoping to drum up some discussion of Fiona, especially with the potential that the new CID might bring in more infantry to the meta (possibly alleviating her of some of the problem of not being able to crack armor?). I'm interested in her because of her unique toolbox and she's not a caster I see talked about much. What drew you to use her? What are some successful builds and strategies you all have employed with her? Is there anything you want to try with her; any cool jank? Also any potential pairings?
I know I've seen a player use her with Wrongeye. Feat with starcrossed is mean.

I don't have her, but I do want her. She's the only real "caster" type in the Mercenary list, but I need to get a Sea Dog unit at the same time to get the most out of her.
That and she looks amazing, both previous model, artwork, and current model.

I've just played her once in MK3.
List was: Fiona *Sylys *Nomad x 2 *Rover Kell Rockbottom Orin Ragman Max Idrians + CA Devils Shadow Mutineers Max Press Gangers Eliminators x 2
This was a fun list and did ok. I won because opponent derped and left Hexy1 on no camp and Money-Shotted Zira popped him twice (plus some Soulfires and maybe an Eliminator combo-strike).
-Eliminators are the best Arc Nodes. -DSM + Rockbottom is a mean combo in any list. -I like PGs in the list as well because Fiona can use them for free upkeeps and then they can bring themselves back. I should say "In Theory" because I never actually used the free upkeeps. I wouldn't normally take him to support PGs but Rockbottom already being in the list is great for them too because Payday is excellent for making sure you hit. Overtake is situational since Shanghai RFPS but it's still good to give better gang/Shanghai coverage for single models attacking. -Idrians under Mini-feat and feat are pretty funny. Shoot them and they are DEF 17. Come in and hit them and they are DEF13 with 1 less die to hit.

My usual inclusions with Fiona are Commodore, Rockbottom, pressgangers, a few heavies (Nomads and maybe a mariner), Eliminators, steelhead halbs and pAlexia. Wrong eye and snapjaw.
The PGs and halbs provide a nice one-two, the commodore is used to overwatch a flag or zone with rockbottom's flamer defending it. Alexia follows the halbs. WE&SJ defend Fiona. Feat to position aggressively on 2 to jam ground. Keep nomads and risen back as they can still be hit under Dark Omen - jam with higher def stuff under feat / SC.
She is usually playing for attrition or scenario after using the feat to steal tempo. She does have a lot of assassination angles with telgesh mark and soul fire, plus nonokrion brand on the commodore which can provide KD and a solid damage roll if you can get a good target to slam over or into their caster.
I imagine that she will improve a bit with more enemy infantry on the board. She's still a B caster with amazing feat, an interesting toolkit of spells but no hit fixer or damage fixer.

Fiona totally has a 'to hit' fixer in Affliction, which is also a (bad) damage fixer.
I haven't played with her so I don't have any deep thoughts to share, but I like the idea of doing a denial army with her - just a bunch of stuff that screws with the enemy's plan and makes it easy for Fiona to dominate for scenario points.
Stuff like: Boomhowler, for his fell calls and Roth's Mercy to keep him alive. Rocinante, Corbeau, and a shield guard of some type to keep Fiona alive. Dahlia and Skarath for Haunting Melody, and a spray to supplement the LOS-ignoring attacks granted by Nonokrion Brand.
I think it has some real legs, though it depends on how possible scenario wins are under SR 2017.

if ghost fleet ever becomes a thing then fiona becomes a thing
right now she's at the mercy of armor skews gunlines and bonus points
wat she wants to see is an army full of dudes with melee weapons like blindwater or gost fleet or thyron but aint nobody play dat
especially thyron hoo boy

You can keep Alexia alive easily. Fiona will be bringing lots of infantry herself so youll end up with plenty of skeletons and a thrall warrior every turn. Feat at the right time will make them harder to hit.

Stuff will only not die if your opponent is a pacifist. The goal is to have your crappy stuff die to make your opponents expensive stuff die.

I'm not really seeing why you'd want Alexia with Fiona in particular. I would prefer to take her with a debuff caster that will help her damage output. Maybe non-theme Magnus2.

only reason to play fi until pirate themes come out is to kill pdenny with soulfires if the opponent has ghost fleet.
