To echo what other people have said, I traditionally like to rush him to the middle and use the feat to deny as much of the board as possible, hoping to get the needed victory points without ever having to fight. As a result, I'm skipping things like A&H because I don't really care about damage buffs; I'm not going to fight much anyway. kiss scares, i need units for adv move etc. so namdsare +5 up field and i get their toolkit , including magic weapons as needed... I understand why someone would bring A&H and I understand the want for units in this list, but I would pretty much always rather bring HACs or Dannon Blythe and Bull to save points. Any list where I really NEED magical weapons is probably getting covered by my second list; this one doesn't have enough models to deal with a large selection of incorporeal models and doesn't have a large unit that really benefits from getting magic weapons.
From your other comments in this post, you sound like you're playing Magnus2 with the feat as kind of an afterthought, which is totally fine, just very different than how I use him.

Which is why I started the thread. to get to understand his feat better. As it stands his feet is fairly situational for me.

His feat is situational, but there are many different situations where it's applicable. One key to using Magnus2 is recognizing those situations. Here's some examples: 1. Lock opponent out of zone(s). This is probably the most common use of the feat. Clear some zones, feat, pick your board edge and a side edge, and watch the scenario points tick up. 2. Line up an alpha. This works best against melee armies. Line up your stuff to alpha, feat, pick your board edge and their board edge, and watch your opponent bump their minis together as they shimmy left and right. 3. Protect your alpha. Similar to 2. Your melee stuff kills their front row of models, the feat to stop their second row from moving up into melee with your models. 4. Make a choke-point worse. Similar to 2. Lock down the opponent's front line and it locks down models behind them. 5. 'I don't your like Eryss1'. Stand on one side of a forest/obstruction, feat, pick your board edge and the appropriate side, and Eryss1 can't shoot Magnus2 (for one turn).

I was actually saying that it doesn't sound like you want it to be central to your gameplan. Like shoe said, I pretty much always spend turn one rushing up the field and turn 2 dropping my feat and sitting on every objective I can. The feat IS plan A, not a tool in the toolkit.
Other people have given great advice on how to use it situationally, but there is also the option to make it central to your gameplan, which is how I prefer to use it. With that plan, you don't kill all that much, but you don't have to since you usually have a 3-4 point advantage going into your turn 3.

Getting to plan. A is what i want to do. I got the ehole push up on as many objectives as i can thing. I feel like racetrack fast when playing mercs compared to khador...

I actually started playing this list to counter my buddies Karchev heavy jack spam list. As long as I can hit enough objectives on turn 2, I generally don't end up killing anything other than maybe a solo or two and winning on points on top of 3.

In fairness, I'm fairly confident that Khador would call it his victory, as I lost nearly 50% of my forces and he lost a solo.
