Hi guys. I've been working on a list for Vayl2, and I'm running into some difficulties, between a combination of "not being able to afford everything I want" and her not doing too well with any of the theme forces because WHERE'S MY HELLMOUTH!? I want to be able to run a fast paced game with big threat ranges, plus Vayl's looming threat of assassination.
No Theme - 75 / 75 points
(Vayl 2) [+28]
Angelius [17]
Carnivean [19]
Nephilim Bolt Thrower [11]
Raek [8]
Seraph [14]
Blighted Nyss Shepherd x2 [2]
Strider Deathstalker [4]
The Forsaken [4]
Raptors (max) [18]
Hellmouth [6]
Stuff I wanted but couldn't include were the Blackfrost Shard, although like most people I'm of mixed opinions on those, and of course, Typhon. I've also been looking into possibly taking a Naga or Bloodseer instead of the Raek (although I do like the pressure it puts on the flanks and rear). I was also looking at theme forces, but I'm not sure how viable Ravens or Oracles would be without Hellmouth access, or even the potential to make room in the list for Typhon.

This is one iteration of my V2 list
War Room Army
Legion of Everblight - v2
Theme: No Theme Selected 75 / 75 Army
Vayl, Consul of Everblight - WB: +28 - Scythean - PC: 18 (Battlegroup Points Used: 18) - Seraph - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 10) - Typhon - PC: 24 - Nephilim Bolt Thrower - PC: 11 - Naga Nightlurker - PC: 8 - Neraph - PC: 12
The Forsaken - PC: 4
Hellmouth - Hellmouth & 3 Tentacles: 6 Hellmouth - Hellmouth & 3 Tentacles: 6
---
GENERATED : 05/09/2017 00:36:17 BUILD ID : 2039.17-03-16.
The other list I run exchanges the neraphs and one Hellmouths unit for the raptors. I find it hard not to include the Scythean since a 14" thresher attack is a big deal both for cleaning up infantry and damaging multiple Jack's or beasts. (5+3+2+2+2) Vayl 2 is my favorite caster simply for the threat range she presents, the tool box she carries, and the looming possibility of feat assassination from so far away. She is the only caster I've ever taken a win on my first turn with....was vs Jarl's from trolls, he moved up pops feat, places a million clouds, and hides. I intentionally fail charge with hellmouth at mountain king to place it at edge of clouds theñ proceed to feat his face off. Luckily for me I didn't miss so he never got to Dodge away.

PS Azrael with admonition is monster, never going back when out of theme conflictchamber.com/#ba1bbtg_bvaOaRbqb9aYfTLegion Army - 75 / 75 points (Vayl 2) Vayl, Consul of Everblight [+28] - Azrael [21] - Naga Nightlurker [8] - Seraph [14] - Typhon [24] Annyssa Ryvaal [8] The Forsaken [4] Blighted Nyss Raptors (max) [18] Hellmouth [6]

Your list with out a carnivian and hellmouth is very close to Ravens Of war. I think it wants to run more infantry though. Banshees are fun with Vayl, though I'm not sure it hits hard enough. | Legion Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Ravens of War
(Vayl 2) Vayl, Consul of Everblight [+28][*]Angelius [17] [*]Nephilim Bolt Thrower [11] [*]Raek [8] [*]Seraph [14]
Grotesque Assassin [0(4)] Strider Deathstalker [0(4)] Strider Deathstalker [4] The Forsaken [4] The Forsaken [4] Blighted Nyss Raptors (max) [18] Grotesque Banshees (max) [13] Strider Blightblades [10]

I use the following: Vayl2 Typhoon Angelius x2 Seraph Naga
Hellmouth Raptors max
Deathstalker
Sheperd
Its an all comers list that can deal with just about anything barring massive jack / armor spam. Just love it.

This weekend I was running the following:
Vayl2 - Succubus - Typhon - Azrael - Seraph - Bolt Thrower
2x Hellmouth 2x Deathstalker 2x Forsaken Shepherd Bunker
It doesn't get the awesomeness that is Raptors with Stealth but the sheer power of the battlegroup makes up for it. The potential for assassination is always 'on'. Two Hellmouths,, Seraph Bolt Thrower, Typhon and Azrael give a ton of ranged presence. Should anyone not sufficiently block LOS to their caster or if you get lucky and get a Critical knockdown or slam from the BT or Az you can very easily just kill them with a bunch of boosted shots and a flurry of spells from Vayl. If people play smart you can very easily shoot a heavy off the table in a turn. Jamming the list up with infantry might look good on paper but the Hellmouth tentacles, pair of Deathstalkers and Typhon sprays will make that harder than it looks at first appearance.

Double Forsaken and a Shepherd seems like a lot of fury management for a Fury 9ish Warlock running a maximum 15 Fury battlegroup, have you considered Anyssa Ryvaal instead? She's pretty fantastic when it comes to killing other cavalry and 2 RAT 9 POW 12 Poison shots can be the difference between a successful or unsuccessful assassination.

You're definitely right that double Forsaken + Shepherd is probably overboard. So far I haven't felt it in-game but will likely be making tweaks over the next couple of weeks.

Forsaken, for me, are workhorse models that fuel their power via fury management. Sending in a loaded forsaken vs infantry, fury-loaded warbeasts, or the occasional caster is glorious. They can also work with circular zones in SR2017. So, while it may be a bit heavy on fury management, don't box them into that role alone.
