Hello, I'm new to the forums. I have been playing warmachine for years now, I am a true son of the motherland and Khador is definitely my favorite faction =D But I am thinking of starting a secondary faction and I can't decide between Cygnar and Cryx, so I would appreciate some help. How does Cryx play in the new Mk3 edition? What are the changes and the new playstyle?

With the release of Ghost Fleet, Cryx's Mark3 playstyle has become nearly unchanged from Mark2 in all honesty. What's changed are the models being put on the table. In Mark2 Cryx was all about infantry hordes, we saw Bane hordes with Asphyxious2, Skarre1, & Goreshade2. We saw Mercenary/Satyxis hordes that were converted into corpses that became Mechanithrall hordes with Deneghra1&2. By and large, Cryx was defined by it's ability to support massive melee infantry hordes, however we would occasionally see deviations such as Deneghra occasionally leading a Mercenary infantry gunline or Mortenebra leading a warjack spam.
Mark3 Cryx is still largely about melee infantry hordes. Most people opt for Satyxis Raiders as their melee unit of choice as they're the most resilient unit we have against gunlines. Soul Hunters, Blackbane's, Bane Warriors, Carrion Thralls, and Satyxis Blood Witches are all good niche melee options that have a place, but are typically considered lesser than Satyxis Raiders due to the Raiders being better in more matchups, or the niche unit requiring a specific caster support (like Soul Hunters needing delivery in the form of either a Coven Feat or Occultation) in order to really shine. Mark3 Cryx also has its deviations from the standard melee infantry hordes just like in Mark2. Deneghra1 gives the faction the ability to gunline, either with Ghost Fleet or Mercenaries like Croe's or Nyss. The old Cryx Recursion game has made a comeback with the likes of Deneghra1 Ghost Fleet and Goreshade2 Infernal Machines (5 Min units of Mechanithralls with 3 Brutes each. Goreshade2's feat can now bring back 15 Brute Thralls all at full boxes for a potential resurrection of 120 Boxes worth of thralls). Cryx can even go with a Jack game going either hyper buffing 1-2 jacks with the likes of Skarre2 or Mortenebra1 or buffing a horde of jacks with Asphyxious3 or Venethrax.
All in all the overall playstyle of Cryx is extremely similar to what it was in Mark2. The major faction changes haven't been to its playstyle, only to the actual models that are played, such as needing to dedicate more list space to warjacks. In Mark2 Revenant Crew were one of the worst units in the faction, while in Mark3 they're the backbone of one of the best competitive Cryx lists. Mark3 Deneghra1 Ghost Fleet is extremely similar to Mark2 Deneghra1 Mercenary Pirates. The difference is instead of turning opponent's models into Press Gangers, and recycling Mercenary pirates into Mechanithralls we're playing Zombie Pirates that reanimate themselves, however the actual playstyle of the list is relatively the same.
