Ive got 50 pts 3 man teams a tournament coming up and id like to tty and win it!
What does a good 50pts troll list look like? I was thinking doomy2, as well as maddy1. At low points levels, even one tough can change thr game. Borka 2 sotn sounds good as well, the amount if pressure he can exert is dumb.
Show me what you've got.

Borka2 would be my choice as well I think.
Is it 1 or 2 lists?
Trolls are bad at 50pts. though, so maybe just some dumb skew?
Trollbloods Army - 50 / 50 points [Theme] The Power of Dhunia
[Ragnor 1] Ragnor Skysplitter, the Runemaster [+30] - Glacier King [35] - Mountain King [36] - Trollkin Runebearer [0] Janissa Stonetide [0] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3]

I was thinking a variantion of the grim 4 huge bases list as one as well.
I was thinking ragnor was the other. Borka2 sotn (50pt vAriation of chris dacocks list) sounds like a plan, yhough i feel that one only works because of everything thats in the list.
I'm thinking at 50 pts theres less room to be able to build and an answer list, so just go full jank and call it a day.

I do not think that Trolls are bad in smaller games at all, in fact, I actually like them. We have many options that can make a big impact without a huge investment in points, and not just Champs and Bears. I'll just run down some examples of lists that I think could be strong. I'll even do one for each theme. conflictchamber.com/#c7200O_-0a4N9D0h0ijq6G0l0miTbKcATrollbloods Army - 50 / 50 points [Theme] Band of Heroes [Madrak 1] Madrak Ironhide, Thornwood Chieftain [+29] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Troll Axer [10] - Troll Impaler [11] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [5] Trollkin Warders (min) [10] conflictchamber.com/#c7200O_-0b590r9Djp0hjq7d6R0k0mTrollbloods Army - 50 / 50 points [Theme] The Power of Dhunia [Grim 1] Grim Angus [+29] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Mulg the Ancient [22] - Troll Axer [10] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Janissa Stonetide [0(4)] Troll Whelps [4] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] conflictchamber.com/#c7200O_-0D02c60ijqfI0k0m2NhUTrollbloods Army - 50 / 50 points [Theme] Kriel Company [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Mountain King [36] - Troll Impaler [11] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew [2] War Wagon [16] conflictchamber.com/#c7200O_-0Gj1fmjqj20li-iZiTbKTrollbloods Army - 50 / 50 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Kolgrima 1] Kolgrima Stonetruth, Winter Witch [+28] - Glacier King [35] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [5]

BoH with no Fennblades? Mulg with Grim1?? 2 Impalers??? Man, I don't get your lists... If BoH I would go oldschool Madrak2 jank: Trollbloods Army - 50 / 50 points [Theme] Band of Heroes [Madrak 2] Madrak Ironhide, World Ender [+28] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Storm Troll [9] Kriel Warriors (min) [7] - Kriel Warrior Standard & Piper [3] Kriel Warriors (min) [7] - Kriel Warrior Standard & Piper [3] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer [0] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer [0]

Madrak 2 does that, so there you go. Though you do need a Fell Caller. Grim 1 is actually very strong in POD. He can protect high-value targets like Mulg and the Bomber with his feat and Mulg can help with Arcane Vortex. Mulg can also arc Man Trap and that's pretty huge right there. And I hate how stupidly over-costed the Impaler is, I just felt like I needed Far Strike and wanted to save the points. FWIW, Madrak 1 can give it DEF 16 vs charges and I wanted to build around the Mauler, which has even more impact on the table with fewer models total there. That said, in retrospect, I think that both Madrak and Gunny can probably make due without Far Strike and swap out for better beasts.

Different point levels really do require different considerations. 75 point lists really open things up as to what you can build and you can always bring enough support and answers to different questions. At 35 points, your battlegroup points are almost that much, so you will see most people play in BG themes and you can plan accordingly. 50 points is a bit of a middle ground, where you can have something that feels like a full army but you WILL have to cut corners somewhere.
I can think of some tips for list building in 50 points:
-Skews can be more effective than they are at 75 points because your opponent is less likely to have an answer. The skew most likely to be answered, though, is armor and you will need to be competent against armor yourself, so do bear that in mind.
-Look for models that can be versatile or multitask, even if they are expensive. The Bomber can soften up heavies, one-round an objective, or kill a caster. It can also pick off infantry depending on the unit.
-Gargs and colossals are better with less stuff on the table that can be a credible threat. So are casters with a potent threat of their own like the Borkas and Grissel 2. Sometimes you can win just by killing the two things that could have killed the King.
-Do look for places to cut point costs without hurting the quality of what your list can do. Don't skip Far Strike or Rage, or the Runebearer or Fell Caller, if you really need it. But you can get by with a minimum KSB, or playing Madrak 3 with Champs, and some warlocks can make due without the RB, like Grissel 2.
