I would argue this. They over-shadow almost every other infantry unit in the faction. That doesn't seem balanced to me. See, people SAY this, but I haven't seen it in practice. What exactly is this 'other melee infantry' you feel is being overshadowed? Infiltrators are a completely different niche (and generally bad outside Vyros1); Halberdiers see almost as much play as sentinels; Ellowuyr are specialized anti-infantry (and not released) Nyss/Invictors are both combined arms units that as best at killing infantry...what else is there for the Sentinels TO overshadow? I guess if after the Ellowuyr and Ryssovass get released, if they don't see play because sentinels, but are otherwise good, there might be an argument, but for now there's just nothing I see to support the contention. I agree with your general point, but the Ellowuyr won't see a lot of play unless the meta changes. You said it yourself, they're specialized anti-infantry and that role is currently not a plus for a unit. The Ryssovass might be actual competition, they look like they might be similarly durable troops that pack a punch. One potential downside though: Ryssovass likely won't have a CA right away, and it's the CA that makes the Sentinels so highly regarded.

It's amazing how much better the MK is in MK3. Likely the best designed piece in trolls. For Legion, it's probably Tyhpon. He's worth every point and works well with a large number of casters. I was going to say the Mauler but I do have to give the MK our faction's "Zero to Hero" award and therefore maybe Best Design too. The problem is we've had our debates over Rage. I was just thinking earlier today that the new MK 3 Battle Box casters in general are some of the best game design I've seen in a long time. Especially Ragnor, Tanith, and Kozlov, but even Maddox and Kryssa are what they needed to be.

Sure, but melee units dedicated to an anti-infantry role haven't been very useful for the entirety of Mk III and it doesn't look like that'll change soon. Maybe if Banes become Mk II strong again, but even then it's doubtful.

Well the game always prefers LIGHT specialization. Too specialized units, or too generalized units tend to always fall to the wayside to stuff that does one thing well but can do other things in a pinch.
