Jesus, 2 hours? Okay, I'm going to have to do this in installments.
30 mins in:
- Magic Weapons? Take A&H - Stealth? Take Spriggan or Viktor - Apparently no-one is talking about Viktor (despite it being in every colossal-containing list on this forum now)
Makes a good point about using support for more than just their support abilities. I personally agree, as I dislike support models. Talks about a V2 list with Double Destroyers, all Tankers, Assault Chariot, Shocks, Demos, Kovnik, Elims, Atanas.
EDIT: Okay, I reached 45 minutes and do not feel like it's going anywhere especially engaging, so I'm bailing.

For some reason I read the title as 'or' and have been wondering what I was choosing them for

I disagree, here in Québec we have our weekly Hard 7 podcast (it's in french so you might not have heard of it) and it's usually around 2 hour long and most of the local meta listen to them eagerly.

Depends on the podcast. I couldn't listen to a weekly one that was 2 hours long.
I agree, not enough victors.
This weekend there's 5 khador players at a team tournament. I'm the only one bringing Victor.

I agree with auraco, I'm totally OK with a podcast being 1-2 hours if the content is good and entertaining. I listen to them when I'm working out, and they help pass the time while on a bike ride or elliptical. OK, I'm about 40 min it - I listened to part 1 on my way to work today. It's entertaining. hocestbellum sums up the main Cliff Notes version, but like Cliff Notes I think he misses some of the subtlety and insights. Example - A&H. They're really good with Vlad 1 with S&P, and the work you then get out of Holt's guns is fairly baller. In an Irusk tough bubble they are pretty wicked. Think about the Valachev tax as an investment in being able to take your POW 10 shooting to POW 12 (Tanker example), but the thought easily extends to other ranged units (damn, now, let's stack A&H and Vlad 1 and Bombadiers and you're looking at net POW 18 bombers). So I'm going to continue listening.

I can agree on Spriggan and Victor being good and underused.
I disagree on A&H being a good answer. Neither 12pt nor 8pt package are efficient for any task. It's an emergency answer to meta problem that does not exist in other factions. I'd rather take my chances with objective or Seers casting spells on gremlins or magic weapon solos like Eyriss, etc.
Chariot = Drakhun+tanker which is basically strictly better Drakhun, I like this comparison.
I2 wgk with Alexia1 is one of my favorite lists, it's dumb fun.

The runing gag in my warmachine group is that you should never listen to a podcast when not working and getting paid for it. I mostly listen to podcasts during office hours at the office.

Ah, sorry, I wasn't clear! I wasn't bailing because I hated it or because it was so long; I just ran out of lunch break. If I thought there was something interesting on the near horizon I would have stuck it out for another 10 mins.
I'm planning to put the rest on whilst painting this evening.

the victor is really good right now but taking into consideration the amount of forests and obstacles there's loads of ways to hamper LOS to a good shot, making the conquest still a pretty viable choice due to 4 high explosive shots.

No podcast should be 2 hours. 30 tightly timed and edited minutes max. There was a time when I regularly took 3 hour bus rides... each way. Long podcasts were a Godsend.

I mean it does a bit, but it's so easy to get a smidge of the base in the clear and then it's an easy shot.

Finished listening now. It was more upbeat than the last one, but I still don't think it actually told us anything we didn't know. I also feel that 'don't listen to the internet' is a strange line for disembodied internet voices to take, but I appreciate the statement in the spirit it was intended! A much more upbeat listen than the previous one, for sure. That said, there was an odd undercurrent to the later discussions when they were talking more specifically about the casters; despite the positive tone, they kept coming back to reiterating that their recommended themes for everything were Armoured Corps and WGK. That's quite limiting, although they were positive about the prospect of S0 too. I did like what he said about the Forge Seer in general, and in specific the use of Berzerkers/Ragers with them. I've always liked running melee jacks with them when there's a free charge about, but I used to run a Marauder or Jugger pre-CID. I hadn't really thought about it since until onijet01 mentioned it in the Armoured Corps Field Report thread, but I gave the marshalled Zerk under Kozlov a shot and it did a lot of work. I imagine in a S0 Jaws list it will do significantly more, because free charges are damned great. 4x P18 blessed attacks from an 8 point model at no focus cost from your caster is delicious.
