I think people tend to rush straight to I2 for Armored Korps and for good reason. But I was thinking Arconovich basically gives you the best of I2 (tactician, pathfinder, tough) anyways, so why not combine that with I1's toolbox instead? An example jank:
1. Iron flesh on Demo Korps (with Dragos) + feat. 2. Retaliatory strike on Korps. 3. Charge or run to engage & minifeat (adding desperate pace or pathfinder as necessary) 4a. Opponent attacks them at +2DEF/2ARM, no-KD super tough with health sharing... only to trigger vengeance AND super accurate retaliatory strikes. 4b. Ignore them and get 7 furied ice mauls to the face next turn.
Niche? Perhaps, but a strong set of internal synergies none the less. And probably not the only awesome thing prime Irusk brings to the table. Thoughts??

I think Irusk1 brings a great kit for Armor corps. I also probably talk about him a lot.
With his feat and IF he puts them towards V2 feat stat line, definitely not as good, but 4+ tough could make up for this. And getting 3 attacks out of the demo corps is a dream.
I've found Irusk can manage the list with only 1 kovnik, his free repo 3" is good and well to get the army up the field. You do have to have good positioning, 1 kovnik does put some strain on engagement.
His feat also does work for bombadiers, combined with aiming you will have 12 rat 11 shots to make. Superiority is my favorite buff for spriggan, puts him in a very respectable beater jack position.
The lack of fire for effect is notable, and i've had games where atans gets picked off and you feel the weight of medium based infantry. I don't think AC suffers from knockdown (Irusk1 stands up models too) nor from blast damage either.

I'm not much for proxying myself so I'm just sitting around list building and waiting for the release. And I must say Irusk1 is who I'm most excited to try. Then again, he was my first ever caster way back in Mk1 so I've always had a soft spot for the grumpy old bastard.

Bringing back the Irusk 1 discussion. I have two lists, one I have fielded with some success.
I have not had much success with democorps alone, possibly V2 will run them the best. +2arm and 4+ tough does not feel like enough, and 11" threat is sub par compared to 14". I have been using them as a nice meat wall for the bombadiers, which ST might be better at.
Bombadiers run awesome with repo 3, +2 hot and battle lust when needed. The list also manages fairly well with one kovnik, freeing up some points (Irusk1 repo 3" is more than sufficient when advancing up the board).
I do feel like I want two supressors, but the strike tankers come in handy more often than not. They also a big chance of whiffing and doing a whole lot of nothing.
So my first list,

The second list here is a bit of a dojo. Orin seems like he will be useful at unjamming, killing incorporeal solos, and making sure the enemy doesnt take off iron flesh. And a second suppression tanker is more than welcome. I do lose atanas and sylys, the loss of sylys is especially painful, but i want to see how the list performs without him. Atanas is nice, but tactician has come into play fewer times than I would have expected and Irusk can pass out pathfinder.

I1 has great synergy with tough+retalatory from Atanas, with bombers+reposition and with IF+shock for arm 23.

I did just get a great retaliatory strike/tough with a shocktrooper, finishing off a Proteus. 4+ tough is hard to deal with. As long as you get more than tactician out of atanas i think he is a good addition.

I would totally be playing Irusk_1 right now if I wasn't trying to sort out my Champions pairing Irusk_1 is very underused in general.

So version 3,
Lost sylys, replaced the demo corps with shock troopers and lost a UA on one ST, also lost kayazy. Crammed in A+H. Albiet i think i made this list better with Irusk 2, removed both UAs and atanas, but this is about irusk 1!
So the list did not lose much damage with the removal of democorps. Either of my ST can now be pow 16 with pow 16 charges, the bombadiers have a better meat shield and can also be pow 16s. I also really like the idea of irusk 1 putting reposition on A+H, so now they "repo" 6", i feel like they can easily get multiple turns of kiss out now. The list also has access to magic weapons, which supression tanks and bombadiers are goos targets.
The list definitely lost a fair bit vs my first list. Maybe just swapping the democorps for ST is the way to go and leaving the rest the same.
