Hi All,
Shortly after MkIII came out, a couple of us over on the Privateer Circle forums were having some fun with a jokey jank list abusing the throw rules. Not as a serious thing, really, but just because it amused us. At the time there were a lot of people running what we called the "Flying Circus", running Dahlia and Skarath, and throwing the snake at people. Since the snake couldn't be knocked down, it'd forfeit its movement and then chew on the knocked-down model it just landed on. We modified this to use Baldur1's Solid Ground and a beast-heavy list to pass Ghetorix up the field like a football - throwing him 3-4 times, but keeping him inside Baldur's control. Like I said; silly jank, but funny.
Then I _thought_ there was a rule clarification that made it impossible for some reason? But I've been out of the game for a year or so, and the old Privateer forums are no longer there for me to check. So when someone asked me about the list the other day, I couldn't actually come up with the reason why it doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know? The heart of it was that a beast would throw Ghetorix (either directly away or at something out of range, so it wouldn't scatter,) landing within Solid Ground. And then another one would do the same. And then Baldur would move up, and then another beast would do the same. The "Thrown" rule says:
So when Ghetorix then activated he would forfeit his move and then attack. My best guess is that someone interpreted that to mean that something thrown twice would have to forfeit both Move and Combat if it activated later, but I can't find any evidence of that in the latest rules clarifications...
Anyone know the reason why this doesn't work? I'm pretty sure there was one...

If a thrown model cannot be knocked down it must still
forfeit its Normal Movement or Combat Action if it activates
later in a turn in which it was thrown.
