So I'm playing about with Midas and trying to find a combined arms list I like. Theme: Will Work For Food 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army Midas - WB: +30 - Gatorman Soul Slave - PC: 0 - War Hog - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15) - War Hog - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15) - War Hog - PC: 15 - Battle Boar - PC: 7 - Razor Boar - PC: 7 - Razor Boar Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor - PC: 0 ? Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Cylena & 9 Grunts: 19 Greygore Boomhowler & Co. - Boomhowler & 9 Grunts: 17 Farrow Bone Grinders - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5 Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron - Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron: 5 THEME: Will Work For Food Theory machine has death march on the Boomhowlers or Nyss, depending on matchup. Threat extension and mat fix thank you very much. Soul slave turns them all into weapon masters (double for the nyss). Pot shells out corpses to keen Midas safe when he dishes out a calamity or upkeep removal. Hogs trade and feat back, razor boars jam. My free solo I was toying with a Bokor for Shield guard... Maybe dropping the grinders for a mistspeaker, but I like the grinders tools like CMA, talisman, grievous and magic they are undervalued imho.

I’ve been planning a very similar list- mat8 weaponmaster boomhowlers sound fun! One thing, is here any way you can squeeze a bone shrine in there? I feel like Midas can really use the extra point of fury on crucial turns.

Last time I played Midas, it was with Efaarits and Gun Boars taking full advantage of Calamity. It is inspiring to see a different approach. Let us know how it fares, please.
I agree that Bone Grinders are better than they look. Grievous Wounds alone can change matches and Craft Talisman also helps keep Midas safe.

I'll keep you posted when I get a game with Midas. Thanks for the feedback too.
Shrine could replace the cauldron and net me a few points for a gremlin swarm... or swap a warhog for a couple of gunboars... hmmm

Yeah, it's super hard to evaluate how much 2 extra battle lusts are worth (not being sarcastic) - on the one hand that frees you up to put out calamities, but playing 10-15 points down (when you consider the loss of free stuff) is super hard to judge, especially since I don't have a good amount of baseline experience with Midas in the first place. Ah, if I only had unlimited practice time.

Ah, if I only had unlimited practice time. I know what you mean, should probably spend less time harassing Cryx with Mackay though. I tried it just to try it, but I think the Soul Slave wins out. It is technically 1 to 5 fury per turn (1 upkeep, 3 cost spell, boosting) where the Pot is 3 fury per turn although Puppet Strings is very strong. Also the Soul Slave can wander away from Midas so you can better Battle Lust two parts of the board. I what ultimately seals it for me is that while the corpses are nice, the only model they interact with is Midas himself. I know you can take Boneswarms, but I am not so certain they are all that good with Midas. You cannot Primal them, so they require Calamity to get up to a mere Pow 17.

Remember that period of like three weeks where you could take a Splatter Boar with Acidic Touch in a theme where the Boneswarms started at max Corpses already? Luxury...

This is what I'm thinking of running: War Room Army Minions - midas WWFF Theme: Will Work For Food 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army Midas - WB: +30 - Gatorman Soul Slave - PC: 0 - Boneswarm - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Gun Boar - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9) - Gun Boar - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9) - Battle Boar - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 5) - Road Hog - PC: 16 - War Hog - PC: 15 Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor - PC: 0 Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Cylena & 9 Grunts: 19 Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron - Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron: 5 Farrow Valkyries - Leader & 2 Grunts: 8 Farrow Valkyries - Leader & 2 Grunts: 8 Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew - Leader & 1 Grunt: 2 THEME: Will Work For Food --- GENERATED : 04/22/2018 13:53:25 BUILD ID : 2061.18-02-21 The only pure support models being paid for are the Bellows Crew. The croc pot does have an attack, which is a minimum 1 inch threat range extender. Nyss makes for an excellent Death March and Blood Lust target. Even including the pot as support makes that a 7 point support investment ... Pretty reasonable I think The Boneswarm may only have one corpse turn 1, but even so I think swarm on Midas is too good to pass up. And since the feat returns undead beasts, and the Swarm can use corpses to heal, you can can get back an extra resilient model via the feat Or so I suppose

I'd change the War Hog to Rorsh and Brine! You get a heavy AND a good solo with nice movement tricks.

I like having 1 recurring heavy hitter in the list. If it's not productive I can certainly swap it out

Got a game in last night against a eMorghul Skorne list. Worked pretty well I think.
