Played agianst a friend of mine last night, very good player, but is making the switch from Filthy Khador to Cygnar.
He actually had just purchased an enormous Cygnar army, and I have to admit, I was pretty jealous when I saw the haul. I thought when he asked to play, he'd want to run Khador, and basically kick my butt all over the field, but he wanted to take his new army out for a spin. We were going to be on an even playing field so to speak. He opted to run Sloan, and Hunter wave, I dropped Siege 2.

I win the roll, opt to go first. Terrain is set up pretty much the same on each side, each had a trench, and a hill. Forrest in the middle.
I give my Trencher Infantry cautious advance and dig in. I move the rest of my troops up at a run, and hold Siege back out of range of Sloan. Bottom of one, he pops feat, moves up and pretty much double fires at all the troops. He kills many Commandos, but ignores my rangers, and can't hit the dug in Trencher Express team. He plays Sloan well, shoots, hits, refuges her out of harms way. I see that I'll be waiting a bit before I can get into her.
Top of two, more movement by me, getting Rangers up to give me the bonus on ranged attacks. I actually kill Arlan and the Squire this turn. I feel like this was a very productive turn for me. No more free Focus from the Squire or Arlan. The rest of the turn, my Trenchers really don't do much save for Cautious Advance, dig in. It was Triumph, and my Rangers and my Express team that did the work. Bottom of two I lose more stuff, two Trench Busters, more commandos including the officer and scattergunners. I have killed two models, and am feeling pretty glum about the Busters dying again. He also pretty much takes Triumph and the Ironclad out of commission. Hunters are hitting hard. But, again, he doesn't do much with the Rangers, and ignores them. He actually tries to pick off a Trencher with Sloan, and misses. She doesn't get to Refuge into the trench she's camping on two. He scores one on scenario.
1-0
Top of three, this is all or nothing turn. I move a Ranger with in 5" of Sloan, four Rangers can shoot at Sloan, the others tie up Hunters. I hit her, and spike damage, he takes one, soaks one. I activate Siege, create a hill, and camp 3. I move my trenchers up on the hill that Siege created and open fire on Sloan. She has one focus, and I have my Trencher Express camped on their hill, ready to finish her up if need be. I hit her with four of the Trenchers, she transfers one. I spike damage on my rolls and kill SLoan.
So I feel good about the win, not good that I lost so many troops/Jacks on one turn. I feel like if I hadn't gotten the assassination, that was it for me. I had no real way to stop his hunters. I do feel like this was the right list to drop into this matchup, rather than my Kraye Heavy Metal list.
I'm 1-4 with my Gravediggers list, but I learned more tricks, and the Colonel is pretty intricate. I'm used to Major Siege going in and smashing face, and the Colonel seems to be a hard core support guy.
I have a question about the Turret, when do you drop it, can you Rocket Pack, place Turret and move Siege back? Can you Rocket Pack, create the High Ground? I feel like I'm not getting enough out of Turret, and it seems like a great tool.
I also feel like I get more work from my Trencher Express team over the Trench Busters. This could just be my style of play, but i'm not sure. Trencher Express, dug in, B2B with Spotter is nasty.
