From the Crucible Guard CID:
Hello and welcome to the Development Talk on Immunities! We would like to discuss with players the ideas presented below and see how people feel they will affect the game.
When giving feedback on this topic remember to be very specific with any issues you see as possible problems or as benefits to these rules changing. Please respond with how you think these changes will affect your faction, whether or not you think this will be a benefit or a drawback, and if you feel any rules like those listed below exist in your faction and have not been addressed.
Exact proposed wording:
Immunities
Immunities are advantages that protect models from some types of damage and effects. When a model suffers a damage roll with one or more damage types to which it is immune, roll one less dice on the damage roll.
XICONX Immunity: Cold – When this model suffers a cold damage roll, roll one less dice on the damage roll (p. 70).
XICONX Immunity: Corrosion – When this model suffers a corrosion damage roll, roll one less dice on the damage roll (p. 70). Additionally, this model is immune to the Corrosion continuous effect (see below and p. 75).
XICONX Immunity: Electricity – When this model suffers a electrical damage roll, roll one less dice on the damage roll (p. 70). Additionally, when lightning arcs as a result of a special rule, ignore models with Immunity: Electricity when determining which model the lightning arcs to.
XICONX Immunity: Fire – When this model suffers a fire damage roll, roll one less dice on the damage roll (p. 70). Additionally, this model is immune to the Fire continuous effect (see below and p. 75).
Damage Types
Replace the second and third paragraphs with the following:
When a model with an immunity to a certain damage type suffers a damage roll of that type, roll one less dice on the damage roll (see Immunities, p. 32).
From the Initial Rules Post:
Core Rules Changes:
We are interested in changing how Immunities function in the current game of Warmachine and Hordes. At the moment they are very decisive – you either can or cannot interact with a model based on what immunities it has. We do not like how polarizing this is. With that in mind, we are changing how immunities function. Instead of preventing all damage from a source with a damage type, they will now result in one less d6 being rolled for damage. This will affect many things in the game and lead to a few other rules being changed as well. Below I have listed the rules we are changing because we still wish immunities to grant you the ability to prevent the damage from the rule. For example, we still wish models with Immunity: Corrosion to enter a Scather effect without suffering damage. Without changing Scather its self, this would no longer be possible.
Breath of Corruption. Change the last sentence of Breath of Corruption to:
A model without Immunity: Corrosion entering or ending its activation in the AOE suffers 1 point of corrosion damage.
Carnivorous Swarm. Change the last sentence of Carnivorous Swarm to:
An enemy model without Immunity: Corrosion entering or ending its activation in the AOE suffer 1 point of corrosion damage.
Molten Metal. Change text of Molten Metal to:
Target warjack suffers 1 point of fire damage to each column on its damage grid unless it has Immunity: Fire.
Penitence. Change second sentence of Penitence to:
When one or more affected models are damaged by an enemy attack, immediately after the attack is resolved the attacker suffers 1 point of fire damage XICONX unless it has Immunity: Fire.
Scather. Change the last sentence of Scather to:
Models without Immunity: Corrosion entering or ending their activations in the AOE suffer 1 point of corrosion damage.
Void Field. Change the last sentence of Void Field to:
Non-undead models without Immunity: Corrosion entering or ending their activations in the AOE suffer 1 point of corrosion damage.
