Hi all,
Just bought Stryker 3, it turns out the hand with the banner attaches at the wrist to the arm with a very small joint, how have people joined it, magnets? pins?
also the Banner looks like it would make it a pain to transport, I have heard some people just cut it off and make him point or carry a shield, has anyone done this?
cheers

I'm a purist, so I wanted to keep the flag. I didn't pin it at all, just glued the wrist joint and then glued a lower point of the flag shaft to the horse. The way the flag angles makes that a very natural connection point as well.
Transportation, unfortunately, is a whole different issue. I keep him in a separate cardboard box that I picked up from the UPS store, a 4" square box I believe that I cut the top off. It just means if I want to play him at the game store I have to make the decision beforehand since he doesn't just come in the bag with everything else, but it's the same way with my huge base foam.

Yeah I was considering anchoring the lower point to the horse, but I was half hoping I could magnetise/pin his butt to the saddle to make transport easier. Maybe I might have to just get a separate box for him as well

I have pinned mine. Transport sees him travel in a biscuit tin with magnets in his base.

cheers Can confirm, banner is a pain in the ass to travel with. Even if you pin it very strongly, its subject to bends etc. i eventually turned it at an angle such that it would fit in a 4" foam with a minor conversion. The swan topper on the banner is destined to be lost, just accept it. I recommend pinning at the join and using something a bit stronger than super glue (i used plumber's epoxy once i'd finally had enough, but you get precisely one shot at that).

I bought one off of a friend that he converted into Cloud from Final Fantasy. Instead of the banner, he made a Cloud sword out of Plasticard and drilled a hole through his hand to pin it inside of. He's still pretty large, but way easier to fit in foam than the banner one and he looks badass.

I got a pointy hand from a 40K terminater and cut it down a little; an even better, fitting bit would be the pointing hand of Nemo1 (but being in europe, ordering from the PP part service was out of the question).
