So I have never faced this list, but it is all the rage in Cid. So what is the list and what are the threats? Then how can we combat this monster while still answering some other problems?

As far a I know the lists is kinda like the following: Nemo3 & finch (in heavy metal) Dynamo firefly x4 Squire Arlan Jr w/ firefly Stormstriders x2 min mech x2
Basically all the boosted pow 12 e leaps on nemo's feat turn melts pretty much anything in its path. There are also some that decrease the number of fireflies to put stormlances in there as well. And since all those boosted e-leaps aren't attacks, they get around all the defense tech.
I've faced a small variant of the list that dropped the number of fireflies to 3, and storm strider to 1, but added a centurion, and thunderhead and something else I'm forgetting.

One key thing is spacing. If you can spread stuff out over 4" and stay 17" away from fireflys you can survive much better. 17" is a very long way.

The issue I always run into is I keep things spaced too far apart so that I have nothing in charge range after my opponent wipes my front line off the table.

E-leap are important, but Dynamo under feat + firefly can almost kill a BB by himself. Even if E-leap are nerfed or if we find a way to mitigate them, we'll still have to deal with a few POW17 + 4D6 shots. Valkyries help there.

A unit of Farrow Valkyries is pretty much mandatory, if you Shield Guard the first shot from Dynamo you can stop his Multi-Fire dead. Also remember that Lightning Generator jumps go to flags, maybe you can position to ground out a jump, also maybe take a Gremlin Swarm to do the same, try to leverage terrain, forests and buildings, take Carniveans and put Spiny up. It's a tough match up, but it is not insurmountable

Just to be sure, the idea here is to put the shield guard within 3" of the BB but with nothing within 2" of the shield guard, so that Dynamo cannot redirect the remaining shots to another nearby model ? Correct ?

In reality you could probably get away with putting something next to the Shield Guard, as the BBs base is 5" plus a 3" Shield Guard range, Dynamo is only RNG 10, so any other models within 2" of the Shield Guard will most likely be out of range of Dynamo and/or out of his LOS

Yes the most important is to put the BB more than 2" away from the Shield Guard, otherwise you just save one shot And be careful not to put the UAs as closest models to the BB/shield guards too.

I saw a triple carni l3 build being discussed on Facebook regarding same topic. Thoughts on L3 Carni x3 Nbt Seraph Naga Forsaken Unsure the rest of points Arm 20 isn't going to hold up well against all the boosted shooting. Let's break down the damage that will be dealt out during Nemo3's feat turn against arm 20. Assuming average dice on 3d6=11. Firefly - 1 pow 10 additional die. 1 points of damage. -against targets within 5" - 1 pow 12 additional die. 3 points of damage per firefly. -boosting the shot gives another 3 points of damage for 4-6 points. I've seen anywhere from 3-5 fireflies per list so that's (12 to 20) or (20 to 30) points of damage total. Dynamo - pow 12/13/14/15 all additional die (assuming it hits). 3+4+5+6 = 18 points of damage. Barring transfers or windwall, L3 is dead. And Arlan can get around windwall. -against targets within 5" of a firefly it adds on 8 more points of damage for a total of 26. -boosting 3 of the shots gives another 9 points of damage for a total of 27-36 or 29-38 within 5" of a firefly. Stormstrider - 2 pow 15 additional die. 12 points of damage total. -against targets within 5" of a firefly it is 16 points of damage. -boosting both shots gives another 6 points total for 22 points of damage. L3 is dead, carni has 8-12 boxes left. And there are two in the list so another 22 points of damage. e-leaps are pow 10 additional die doing 1 point each against arm 20, and 3 points each within 5" of a firefly. Based on the list I posted above it can generate 9d3 auto-hitting damage rolls which would be enough to scalpel out the remaining boxes of wounded beasts/casters. From all that shooting and e-leaps, it would kill all 3 Carnis and probably get some damage onto L3 from e-leaps. At this point I don't think arm 20 is enough to survive Nemo3 feat turn. Dice can vary this result though.

apoc2148 Lylyth 3 does have Wind Wall...

The big problem with running any gargantuan into the list, even if you have shield guards, is that Gargantuans are really easy to stall. Drop a firefly in front of a Garg, and it's going to be really difficult to clear it without obstructing the Garg's path forwards. Meanwhile, each turn the Garg (even without Dynamo) takes 4 boosted POW 17s from storm striders, while Dynamo blows something off the board each turn, provided it's not also shield guarded.
Have any of you tried running Lylyth3 with an Archangel? that seems like it would get around many of the issues. Lylyth is tough enough that she doesn't just die to E-leaps with escort up, she can escort/windwall the AA while it blows Dynamo off the board to keep it safe from Storm Striders, then send it into the Storm Striders (since it can't be pushed). Feat to stationary the storm striders if you can't get on Nemo3, and it seems like a reasonable matchup to me. Run Ravagores and Teraphs as necessary to ensure you can one-round Dynamo at range, and the matchup seems...manageable.

Wind wall is completely within 3", so an AA can never be protected by it. Storm striders are battle engines and can't be made stationary.
