Okay so short hand. I moved back to my home town and my good friend just grabbed a used Circle army. Over the next few days ill have more info for the forum.
From what i know he has the original mkii 2 player starter half, a unit of shifting stones, and 2 gallows grove models.
I know he has another warlock and battlegroup but im not sure what yet.
From the sounds he also has the reaves of orob(forgot how to spell, so im stopping there)
I plan to secretly pyrchase him 2 sentry stone units.
But i want to help guide him into learning this faction ive not owned. (Played never owned) i dont have experiance playing C.O.C. or Grymkin.
He has experiance playing Skorne, Cryx, Meanoth, and Gators.
So i look foward to having killed players help me to aid him with advice.
Thank you for your time

Gotta say this straight away: all you have mentioned yet, doesn't synagize with sentury stones and mannikins at all. Even though the little sticky boys are a really good unit (and have been a staple to almost any list before themes dropped) they now only can be played in the theme "bones of orboros". This is indeed generally concidered to be the stronges theme right now, but the only thing your friend ownes that can be played in that theme is the set of shifting stones (3p, ~10$). Good thing is, the warbeasts for this theme are mostly cheaper than their living counterparts, but I think your friend most likely wants to build upon what he ownes yet. I'm not a veteran at this game and only playing for a year yet, but I will try to give you some arvice. Since the unit included in the mkII 2 - player set is tharn ploodpack you have some options: a) you want to play competatively -> put them on a shelf and never look back (at least until the upcomming tharn CiD). Then I would recommend going for the living beast theme "Call of the Wild" and purchase something like a scarsfell griffon (but this is really depending on what he actually ownes). b) you only play for fun and so do your opponents -> play out of theme with the mannikins or buy something tharn related to get into devourers host theme. Here I would recommend blood reavers if you look for something around 20$ (similar to the 2 units of stones and mannikins) or ravengers + UA (much more expensive but a staple to the theme). Also your friend has a lot of shooting (blood pack + reaves), with sentury stones you get a nice shooting list out of theme. c) hope the mentioned caster + batlegroup he also ownes is tanith with the mkiii box -> you rely on the reaves (whitch are really mean with tanith, thanks to her spell affliction and their seemingly unlimited amount of bolts they can shoot) and go for "the wild hunt" theme, which is based around the wolfsworn models in our faction. Than I would recommend getting either a wolf of orboros unit (~50$, but can also be assembled as another unit of reaves) or 2 war wolfs whitch are a staple to this theme (~10$ each).

My core model list for Circle is below. It's not a specific army so much as a bunch of models that will always be useful.
- one each of the non-character warpwolves (Feral, Pureblood, Stalker) - one Wild Argus - one Gorax - one or two Woldwyrds - one or two Shifting Stone units - one or two Sentry Stone units - one or two Gallows Groves - one ten-man unit (Bloodtrackers, Wolves of Orboros, or Reeves of Orboros)
It sounds like he already has a good portion of the list, so after that I'd suggest buying more casters as they are an inexpensive way to expand your options. Also the construct warbeasts have become much stronger recently so they are all good options, particularly the Woldwarden.
