Hey guys, went to the crucible a convention in Orlando this weekend. Played in the last chance qualifier to get into masters on Sunday. My pairings were Batman is and Rask in theme. 49 people showed up so they broke into 2 heats. So to get to masters you need to be in the top 6 of each heat. I will post my record and quick batrep then when I get home (still here at the moment) I will write something more in depth.
Round 1 sadly I got the by. Cheered on my feiends and took a much needed nap.
Round 2 played task theme into fyanna theme. Correctly saw win condition would be clock. My opponent won at 56 seconds. Made a couple of small mistakes but still shaking the cobwebs out.
Round 3 in the fun group since I am 1 in 1. Play Task into Kallus2. Win on scenario.
Round 4 play Rask into Lucant. On a side note COC was the most represented faction coming in at 5 players. I won on clock.
Round 5 played Barnabus into diamiano theme. Made a bad list call since it was a very long day. Didnt realize until after I picked my warlock that the theme benefit basically made my feat less then great. Should have stool with rask.
Ended up 3-2 but my SOS was trash so didn't even come close to the cut. Lots of great games with rask theme. If you're questioning running it, don't. It is super legit!
More to come later guys. Also on a plus side my other minion brother made it into masters so we are still representing!

OKay now that I am home I can go into some detail. So the lists I played are:
Rask Wrastler Blindwalker bull snapper x2 Mist speaker Posse x3 Min Croak Raider Shamblers Cloud Gobbers
Barnabus Wrastler Spitter x2 Targ Mist Speaker Gobber chef Efaarit Scout Sacral Vault Brigands with the warlord
Rask was in theme and if you have not tried it you need to. Those posse do work! The plus 2 inches of deployment was not half bad either.

Why the Blindwalker with Rask?

So the blindwalker with task was my basic list deployment was have 2 units of posse on one side with the walker and 1 unit on the other. Put Rask in the the middle with shamblers in front of him. The blindwalker in theory was to let me place fury where it worked best.
In actuality it never worked out that way. Already changed the list to have a swamp horror. Drop the raiders and make them a min unit of posse. I also learned I am not a great rask player lol. The way I play him is more like Maelok. So I might be switching out to that instead.

I have a really weird relationship with the Swamp Horror. Although he is 2 pts cheaper than a Wrastler and sorta has the same threat range, it is statistically less survivable, even with Impervious Flesh, and has less Fury, and still requires a Wrastler to function. But they clock in at 14 points which is nice. It is just a weird spot for me.

Oh I agree. Not my first pick but I had 14 left. Also I don't mind them as much with rask. You can rage or fury them and have them shred some infantry. Also the pull can be an awkward threat extender
