Some of you may know that I've slowly been putting together Cyngar models on the side (my current factions are Khador and Mercs). Company of Iron motivated me to pick up some Cygnar solos, so I recently read Falk's card. I just wanted to verify that his "Rune Marked" attack works with any attack that is magical? So it would work with Gallant's sword, Precursors, Gunmage shots, and even the attack itself (making it effectively a POW 14 spray)?

Yes to all. It triggers on hit before he rolls damage for his spray.

Cool. Second(third?) question: do you get to choose an attack type for the Recipricate attack?

I thought so, just wanted to be sure, thanks. It sounds like he's a pretty good way to add a bit of punch to some COI lists: gunmages, Runewood, or even Alexia could do a bit more against hard targets with his help, but with his sprays he should still be good against infantry (and sprays seem very good in COI).

I would add a jack benefiting from Arlan to this list because hot damn is it ever good in that context That's cool, though not needed for Gallant who I'm currently planning to run anyway; I'll have to think if I need a second jack buffed enough to spend the points (plus maybe I'd just take A&H at that point since I'm not planning on running themes just yet). I've been looking at Falk's model and it's just kind of boring. I do like the Gunmage aesthetic, so maybe just adding a hat would help (the pose is still boring though). Not sure if I can sculpt one myself, maybe a head swap (or just a top-of-the-head swap) with another Gunmage head would be better. I think I'd rather mod another Gunmage to look like it's holding a scattergun though. Does anyone have any suggestions for improvements or substitutions to the model?

It would probably require more work than it's worth to not lose the Gunmage aesthetic, but the Trencher Master Gunner has an awesome pose, or Commando Scattergunners could work. But again, they have the giant Trencher pauldrons, so it's probably a huge pain in the ass.
Edit: Could also do something with the Tempest Rifleman or GMCA by switching the gun and head maybe?

Good ideas. I think the rifleman's pose does not fit for a scattergun user with run and gun, sadly, because he's on of the few Gunmages who isn't holding his gun out with one hand. Right now I'm looking at Colbie Sterling and wondering if there's something there; she has a coat and something scattergun-ish, give her a hat and swap the wrench for a sword or something and it could work maybe.

She definitely has the slugs for it to boot. Harlan Versh could be another competitor, though one handing a scattergun in firing position is far sillier looking than her pose.
