I’m not getting to play as much lately and trying to find a good offlist for Wurmwood in bones w a 3 wyrd, fulcrum shooting barrage. I heard some talk of of baldur2 as a potential answer to ghostfleet. I stopped playing baldur2 Bc I kept running into a ton of blessed weapons.
I’m looking for an easy to pilot but competitive offlist for atc. Obviously depends on what my team needs, but I’m considering b2 in bones, kromac1 in bones, kaya3 cotw.
So what’s the latest on baldur2 for Ppl who actually get games?

List below. The wight would be baldur2 shield guard buddy. If not wight, then 2 groves to cancel tuff and channel crevasse and change minion to ferralgheist.

If you want competitive and easy to pilot try bones with two Woldwraths.

lol, easy to pilot, hard to win with x.O; Gargs need to be pushed way up the board or they are useless hunks of flesh (stone in this case) in the way of your other units.
That list looks pretty enticing as an anti-cryx spam list. With Megalith you can negate the damage dealt to baldur through devouer's debt. Geomancy + Crevasse is a great way to clear infantry and remove the models from play. Use the shifting stones to port the wold guardians up the field early while the sentry stones can continuously spawn their mannikins ^-^
I do believe you can do better with Baldur 1, but it's also true that the units who can greatly benefit from Stone Skin goes down greatly in bones theme.

@demnic I played the Baldur 2 double wrath build, With the Bones deployment benefit, the very powerful control AOE's and Arm 23 Woldwraths with lots of access to healing its not that hard to just plant a Wrath at the edge of a zone by turn 2 (you obviously run turn 1) My biggest issue was the awkwardness of 2 huge bases. But thats compensated for by those 2 huge bases utterly crushing what they touch with free charges and Pow 19. Heck that was before the strength buff from the shaper. Sentry stones also really really help with un-jamming and zone control. Still the best unit in the entire circle faction IMO. Its not that hard to win with baldur 2, just takes a lot of patience and practice.
I have turned away from him because I've been using him Literally ALL of Mark 3. I took a break after taking him in a double wrath build to NOVA because it was just getting boring playing the same game over and over again. (SO MUCH FLIPPING HALEY 2....UGGGHHHH)
Before I ran double wrath (back when bones had first dropped) I ran an all heavies list with a decent amount of success. With the new Wold and Bones Cid changes. I think its stock just went up.
Baldur2: BoO -Megs -2 Wardens -2 Guardians 2 Shapers 2 Wayfarers 2 Sentry Stones 2 Shifting Stones Hutchuck.
You can always switch things around and add in a woldwatcher or 2. But I typically like to either camp 2 with baldur or place a rock wall meaning I can only really afford to put roots on 2 models. Megs and the 2 wardens do it themselves. You have lots of access to crevasse and using manikins as targets can get around cloudwalls, stealth, arcane vortex, and other such nonsense.
I think he can be bland for a lot of players because he plays like a Troll caster. Bricks up, buffs a specific aspect of his army, and grinds for turn after turn. I normally play death-clock with him, or almost every game will go to turn 7.
If you want something that is easy to pilot but very competitive as a hard counter to most gunlines, play baldur 2. Believe it or not he has a lot of variety in list builds so make whatever you think is best!

Thanks for input. I got a couple games in with my list above and the biggest issue was scenario and I happened to run into tough, which really sucks for crevasse. Fury management was also really tough. The good thing is it is really tough to work through all of these arm 21+ heavies.
As all players get more used to sr 2017, it seems these types of lists require more n more pieces just to contest. I took out the wight and chef for ferralgheist, bellow crew, and gallows grove.

That's where manikins can become super useful. It is a guaranteed spray if you hit! If you can spray with the manikin to its like bonus points Gallows groves also help with tough. It takes a lot of work and positioning practice. But it does come in handy. Grymlin swarms are also excellent contesting pieces so if you have the points I would consider one of those.

I keep running into the situation where I have like 6 points left in a list and need some contesting pieces. Do I do a gremlin swarm and a third stoneshaper. Or do i do a gheist, bellows crew, and a 2 pt option

Or do i do a gheist, bellows crew, and a 2 pt option it really depends. Do you need the arc node, the contesting piece and the fog cloud? A grove is excellent on a baldur 2 feat turn when you want to use fury. Your list does not really need a gallows grove in it but it has its uses. I just really like the gymlin swarm. He is so darn hard for other factions to remove and can just toe a zone and be annoying for an entire game. Him and an extra source of healing or enrage could be great in your list. I think youll have to figure that one out yourself based on preference. I would probably start with the grymlin swarm and shaper combo and then work to the triad of 2 point options if you feel the list needs the arc node and cloud.

It’s noy so much the cloud that I’m looking for as additional contesting models.
Is it stealth combined w incorporeal that makes the swarm so good? I see why grymkin would take free ones, but the gheist is based higher def.

He should probly gain prowl honestly. It’s honestly the Stealth that’s puts it in this place of contesting gold. Your opponent needs magical stealth ignoring weapons. Honestly denying the ability for an opponent to easily remove a 3 Point piece at range has just been so good. They normally invest way more to kill a grymlin swarm than they should probably have to. It also has 5 boxes which is another awesome factor to consider.

Excited to try it. With kromac 1 I was having luck flooding one side of map w warpathing beasts. Shifting stones, gheist, chef all just hoping to buy a turn or 2 until I could pivot over to the empty side
These are slower and can’t warpath, but so so so much more durable. My issue w “premium heavies” was the dropoff when u lose one. I like shield guards and healing to help that out here. So much less mobile tho it hurts.

Perhaps the Gremlin should lose stealth? The hard to spot annoying, destructive gremlins somehow don't quite make sense...
