So we have our new roster, Maddox, Jakes, Siege 2 and Kraye. Am I the only one less than ecstatic about having Jakes and Maddox on there yet again? Just seems lazy and boring.

The battlebox casters seems to be a staple so there is that.
Overall Kraye and Siege2 could work.
In my meta the champion tournaments are however the ones with least players, often cancelled.
I normally attend just the steamroller and master GT and can never see myself using this ADR.
The concept of ADR (outside champions where you have to use it) seems overall worse in the thememachine days. Switching is more difficult in list construction.
Overall a big "Meh" from me

I definitely think the only viable option in that quartet is Siege2 + Kraye, and I am curious to try it out. Siege2 is obviously really strong (he may be our most "all comers" caster now), but I feel he works best when supported by a strong gunline. Kraye doesn't specifically buff guns beyond giving jacks Repo 5", but that might be enough given the option to shift gears out of a gunline build thanks to ADR. That said, the lack of Ragman in Heavy Metal is felt incredibly strongly in this case. Maybe he will work in a different theme, like SotT?
I also agree that our ADR is super boring in general. It feels like Kraye has been on there multiple times before as well.

Kraye is practically a brand new caster after the CID, so having him on there is fine, Siege 2 is out latest caster so that makes sense. Other factions don't have both their journeyman and battlebox casters on ADR still, so why are we still stuck with them? There are tons of underrepresented casters that could be on there: Nemo 2, Nemo 1, Sturgis, Caine 1, Caine 2, Haley 1, Siege 1. I am not asking for Nemo 3 or Haley 2, I just want something new

I would have loved to see Caine1 on there with Siege2 as well. Working with what we have, here is a preliminary idea for Kraye: conflictchamber.com/#c1201b_-0oiO9B9E9E9Eanagagjz9u9K9L9MCygnar Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Sons of the Tempest !!! Your army contains a pre-release entry. (Kraye 1) Captain Jeremiah Kraye [+28] - Centurion [17] - Defender [16] - Defender [16] - Defender [16] Captain Arlan Strangewayes [4] Gun Mage Captain Adept [0(5)] Gun Mage Captain Adept [0(5)] Lieutenant Bastian Falk [5] Ragman [4] Arcane Tempest Gun Mages [11] - Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Officer [4] Black 13th Strike Force [10] ADR is still up in the air, but I think Jr. manning a Charger along with a couple of Hammersmiths + min Mechaniks is a good start to make the list substantially more resilient if need be.

Looks good, I would not bother though with Junior, Kraye wants all the warjacks on himself.

Looks good, I would not bother though with Junior, Kraye wants all the warjacks on himself. A Journeyman with a Sentinel is worth it, especially if you're playing a melee jack game (Centurions say Hi). The shield guard can be invaluable as I've found when trying to use a firefly instead and then having Kraye horribly gunned down. Sentinels don't really need to do much besides sit 3" away from him, so all of Kraye's tools don't really matter. Late game it can push up and start doing some stuff if necessary.

Obviously CHampions is Champions and I can see Kraye/Siege2/Maddox there. But it's Champions and the format is, by its nature, limited. So it's not bad but hardly great.
Masters? Once again I don't think you'll see specialists seen being played. I don't know what you would swap in and out with Kraye, especially with the themes being in play. Siege2 could easily swap things in and out, swapping Trencher Long Gunners for another jack might be okay or something.

agreed, I think the power of our next ADR will be determined by how much work you get out of giving Siege2 specialists. I'm starting to think he is our most well-rounded caster but GD is super limiting in terms of what modules you can swap in and out.
back to complaining about how insane the merc ADR is...
