Yesterday I had a demo at 75 points and frankly it was amazing. My opponent brought Madrak1 infantry list (champ+skaldi, fennblades, longriders etc.) and my list worked pretty good, great control, decent attrition but a lil low on model count (http://lormahordes.freeforums.net/thread/5884/circle-first-list). What next? I'm seeking wisdom from older druids: how to learn the ropes? Better lower points game? And what to buy since Yule is getting closer?
Many thanks

I'm not an expirienced player, so my advice might not be 100 correct, but I would say: List discussion for your list already happens in the other threat, so I will not comment on that regard. The low model count should not be a general problem, because it only comes into play as a disadvantage if you face a lot of infantry. To take care of that matter in general for tournament play you will always bring 2 lists and chose one before every game after looking at your opponents lists. Thus your second list will probably cover infantry spam (Circle is kinda good at killing infantry).
Playing lower point games is always a good idea for beginners, since you will focus more on the individual models and get used to the existing synagies. To learn fast it's also a good idea to pick a caster you like and play a lot of games with it. At a certain point you don't need to look up stats and concentrait on your list but you can start looking at the stuff that is happening. In the beginning you focus will be attrition/assasination. If you get compfortable with this things you will start focusing on scenario (which is commonly ignored by new players).
In your specific case, if you like your list and how it plays out, just reduce it to a lower point level (0 - 10 - 25 - 50 -75) and start playing as many games as you can. Did you borrow the models? If so, ask in the other threat how to properly build small point lists around the models included.

Good to hear your game went well. As goodjazz said, it is better for you to keep playing the same caster in order to make you remember your stats. Also, now you will be starting to get to know every other caster and faction you will face in tournaments. You will get "gotcha'd", which means, you will get surprised by combos and tricks that will get you killed. It is fine, and part of the process. Just don't get discouraged, you will get it eventually. Remember to play safe for now, your survivability is your number one focus, even if you don't win.

If you enjoy Baldur1 then stick with him. Learn the ins and outs thoroughly -though I do suggest going down in points size since you will need to learn the functions of individual models before moving onto the more complex interactions between models/units. The game is all about combos and Circle is one of the more complex factions to master.
For advice on purchasing I recommend heavy Wolds (Wardens and Guardian are legit now and Megalith has uses in many lists) and a couple of Woldwyrds. The theme force (Bones of Orboros) means these pieces will also find a home competitively as you build your selection of Warlocks. I know it's early days but when you get to a place where you want to try one of the most complex, difficult to master yet rewarding Warlocks I recommend eKrueger. Good luck!

I've heard that eKrueger is damn tricky but very powerful in Bones, with TK+Geomancy; I like control, so eKrueger is on the list of my future casters. So far on my Yule's wishlist there are: Baldur1, Guardian, Warden, 2xWyrd...and still looking for some inspiration for colour scheme

Bought a bunch recently with eKrueger, was thinking of schemes too. I settled on concrete with graffiti. Calling it the Urban Jungle motif.

I play him in almost every bones list. Kruger 2 has some stupid assassination vectors. Shifting stones + TK gives woldwyrds a 20" threat and the fulcrum a 20-24" threat. Trample + Lightning storm will kill casters too I'm loving him! Baldur 1 is a very good learning caster. He works well with almost all of our models. But overall I give him a 3/5 when it comes to competitive power level because he likes to brick up a bit more than he probably should and he can be fury strapped turn by turn. You really can play almost anything with him though. Solid ground and Stone Strength are excellent in faction spells that support a wide variety of models. Pow 16 skinwalkers under SS and gang? Pow 22 guardians? Pow 23 Woldwrath? Whoop Whoop! He also has a very versatile play style. He can run and excellent gun-line in bones giving you a free turn with the feat against armies that lack a way to ignore it, or you can use the feat and his forests to shield a melee army on the approach for a guaranteed alpha! Just e weary of flight incorp, and ghostly!
