Like the title says, what theme do you think gets the full treatment first, and when will it come out?
Also, do you think it will arrive before Crucible Guard hits at L&L? So far it seems they're booked through February, with Protectorate, Circle, maybe Retribution, maybe Mercenaries yet to be announced aside from Skorne. That seems a bit tight of a window... Are we just forever pushed to the back because of the line because of the Great Skorne Errata?
I'm not salty, just curious.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was The Exalted getting the first treatment. As far as i know PP's developers seems to be fans of the statues and out of all our themes this one is the most limited. It is Zaal2's theme, and a couple of other people can come along for the ride on it but won't run it a fraction as well as he does.
In comparison, MoW is incredibly open and almost any caster in the faction can make a functional, if not strong MoW list. DoA is very open. Warhost is not open, but has functionally more lists and casters than exalted. Winds just works with a couple casters too, notably Rasheth and Hexy2. (but almost 100% of the time its Rasheth)
As long as its not warhost i'll be happy. i find warhost a bit dull compared to the thought of getting more statue units, solos and updates. I also would love more characters for MoW. Skorne has a pretty small roster of character solos

Exalted would be great, they desperately need help. Problem though, isn't that a book theme? It would be the first Faction Book theme to get the treatment.

WoD has more warlocks that can play well in it than you're giving credit. Jalaam, Hexy1, and Morghoul2 can all make an effective list in it, though of course Fatty remains the favorite.
We just don't have enough Exalted models for the theme to bring much variety in theme. I run my Zaadesh2 in it, and it can be surprisingly strong. Makeda2 can surprise as well, bringing Dash and Feat to an Immortal assassination is very good, and Stay Death can help make sure those Extoller Advocates stay alive. Thing is, the threat is predictable, and gets boring to play.
Another solo, at least two new Exalted or Extoller units, and hopefully some Construct warbeasts would be amazing.

I don't think we'll get anything in 2018. Theme releases usually drop every other month. Crucible Guard will be taking up at least two more. We already know of 3(?) more themes (Satyxis, Ogrun, Manowars). Leaves two more release slots and I think they'll go to the priority factions. We'll probably get a slot in 2019.
That said, we can already speculate at what it might be. IWH and WoD are out. They were in the faction book. That leaves MoW, Exhalted and DoA. DoA is just unlikely seeing as those would have to be Minion releases. So MoW or Exhalted. I agree that Exhalted is most likely.

That's far too slow to not even get one by the end of 18. That's moving into unacceptable territory. Then you're looking at another release sometime by late 2020? I'll mutiny. 2 releases per edition isn't functional.

I actually find it somewhat reassuring that I'll be Faction-complete rather soon and can focus on painting other things like Legion or Infinity.

I don't think I'm current -- what is a "full theme release"?

Something like Trenchers or Northkin. Where an entire theme goes through CID and gets new releases. That is the was new releases for WMH are supposed to be structured in the future.

We have seen this past year and some similar schedule and I would even say the 12 days of Xmas shows that PP even knows there are years that will go by without a faction getting a release so they tried to mitigate it. I agree with the emotion of skormedlover87 though if I am only getting new theme releases every 2 years I am going to lose interest quickly. Skorne is a little better off given our theme that allows minions so I think I will start trying to get a list in that working.

I wonder if they're finally through most of the mk2-3 transition, with all old models finally released, with the new mag out, with most factions functional, themes released, CoI released; will they pick up the pace of theme releases? If they can get to 2 every 3 months, each faction can expect a major release every year and a half. That's certainly better than 2+ years.

They might. What I wish they'd do is regular "Bad Model CIDs". Just pick a bad model per faction and rework it. Doesn't require a full release cycle and makes a lot of players happy. It's almost like getting new releases.

Especially after the slew of new releases and scenarios have shaken up the meta so much.

I would also be all for this! tweaking some of the older stuff would open up so many possible options and get people excited with taking no time away from what is already in production on the manufacturing end.

I wish there was a way to communicate this to PP in an appropirate manner.
