CiD Update: Revenant Canon Rng: 13 & Ghost Shot. Pt cost 5, but still can be taken free. Blighted Trollkin Marauders Gain CRA back, Gunslingers back to cost 7, Raider Captain gains Sprint....Barathrum Added to Slaughter Fleet.

Here's the full change list. I think caster-independent access to Barry might be what I'm most excited for Blighted Trollkin Marauders: Last week saw a slight downturn in power level for the Marauders. We were not happy with their performance during playtest games without CRA and feel that its return will help the unit be more consistently useful. Gain CRA back. Revenant Cannon Crew: One of the maligned units of Ghost Fleet, the Cannon Crew is picking up Ghost Shot. This does bump it up in points, but it will remain a free option in the theme force. We are looking for compelling feedback on the Cannon Crew and what you do and do not like about them. Gains Ghost Shot. Increase range of Ghost Cannon to 13" Remove Point Blank. Cost 5. Satyxis Blood Priestess: A simple reduction in points. Many games the Blood Priestess was simply supplying a free upkeep and access to Sucker!. With this change it will encourage her inclusion as a paid for option and make her inconsistent melee contribution a little less of a consideration. Cost 4 Satyxis Gun Slingers: Satyxis Gun Slingers are something we're still playing around with. Last week saw some marked decreases in power along side a point increase. We have reduced the points back to 7 after settling out how the changes affected the units power level. Cost 7 Satyxis Raider Captain: Sprint is a more thematic and powerful rule to go with the Satyxis Raider Captain. We hope this will see her in the fight a little more often than Reposition allowed her to be. Replace Reposition with Sprint. Satyxis Raider Sea Witch: With the removal of Pathfinder from the theme force benefit we decided that the quality of life upgrade from making True Wind simply grant pathfinder is one we could go with. True Wind just grants Pathfinder. Severa Blacktide: To standardize Severa with the Gun Slingers, we lowered her speed. This also reduces her threat range by a tiny amount as well, as we feel she is very strong at the moment. Vortex Blast now has a clause causing it to only trigger on enemy models removing some potential abuses from attacking your own models. SPD 6. Vortex Blast triggers on hitting enemy models. Skarre, Admiral of the Black Fleet: Skarre 3's survivability is looking like its in the place we want it to be, though we do feel she lost a bit of power from the changes last week. A slight tweak upwards in Warjack points we feel is sufficient to help bring her into parity. Warjack points 27. Slaughter Fleet: Continuing to add the character jacks where they make thematic sense is something we would like to do. Barathrum has been added to the Slaughter Fleet theme force. Not sure why Barathum fits thematically in Slaughter Fleet? Is the big stuff navy theme force Terminus' home so he fits there?
A bit of back to the future feel with some of these changes - Sea Witch giving pathfinder, Captain gaining sprint, Cannon crew gaining ghost shot take them back to Mk2. Gunslingers feel like after a few rounds of CiD and sweeping changes, they're pretty much where they started.. traded blood mist for dodge, Heart seeker and +1RAT (which admittedly is a pretty good trade). All of the above feel like good changes though, so not complaining.

Barry is heavily focused on burrowing, which would have made me think black industries given that theme's inclusion of cephalyx. Terminus commands the Navy though, so slaughter/scourge/ghost fleets would make sense on that front, but only ghost fleet actually has the undead Termy needs... Fluffwise all the themes have naval ties; one of Cryx's six flagships (the Exhumation) is a floating thrall factory captained by a skarlock and another (the branding iron) is warjack and necrotech focused.

Is it just me or is the Satyxis theme really good now? Double Raider boat backed up by the gunslingers with pGaspy or pDenny just sounds like it would do a lot of work.
I'm only considering it in a vacuum though, haven't played enough tournaments in last 6 months to have any appreciation for meta state. Is it just that it wouldn't work into either a faction or a list X which is out there?

So wait, when did the satyxis theme lose pathfinder? And what did they get in return?
Cool, I love Barathrum. That will make me want to take that theme a bit more often.
The thing I hated about the cannon crew was they were too slow to contribute with the rest of the list. Increasing their range and ghost shot may help.

I feel like the point of this CiD was not to make raiders even better, but here we are.

I think making the death strike on witches RFP more elegantly solves the problem and pushes pathfinder back to the theme. Full theme RFP just makes them bonkers good and its unnecessary to heap more advantages on raiders.

They're pretty clear that no matter how much pushing the community does, the theme isn't getting pathfinder again.
