Character warjacks/warbeasts are already pricey and hard to use because they generally don't work in themes (which as I understand it is how PP wants everyone to play) except with one caster (and their epic versions), so doubling down on that with duplicates that don't work in themes and compete with their own original versions even with their caster / outside of theme might not be good business sense: it would be such a small niche for a rather expensive model, I doubt they would sell well.

Personally I think if a character jack went epic that would be pretty cool. There's a few destroyed characters in the story who could be waiting to 'go epic' From memory Nightmare was stomped to death in Colossals. Not sure if he's been seen since. That was Beast-09 who got stepped on by a stormwall. IIRC Nightmare was also destroyed but it was Haley shenaniganizing it again.

A few of the Khador ones are 'broken' too. Drago took a nose dive off a cliff, I think Torch was captured by Cryx at some point. But I think Strakhov actually went Epic to bring him back. Oh, and Triumph got turned into sushi by Butcher3.

Torch was captured by Cryx at some point. But I think Strakhov actually went Epic to bring him back. First of all, I think you might be confusing Torch and Karchev... unless... GASP! KARCHEV 2 WILL ALSO BE TORCH 2! On a more serious note, I don't remember Torch getting captured specifically? I assumed he'd been destroyed when Strakhov left him behind. I don't see any reason why the Cryxians wouldn't just scrap him and use the metal to build more Cryxan thralls or jacks or whatever. Is my memory playing tricks on me?

I don't see any reason why the Cryxians wouldn't just scrap him and use the metal to build more Cryxan thralls or jacks or whatever. Is my memory playing tricks on me? Copied from the MkIII Khador Kommand book. Torch fought at Strakhov’s side in the attack on Point Bourne in 608 AR and was nearly lost there. Strakhov and Torch were among the first to be ambushed by Cryxian attackers, even as the Khadorans were concluding their successful invasion of that Cygnaran city. Torch valiantly intercepted the Cryxian helljacks sent by Wraith Witch Deneghra that otherwise would have set upon its master, but it was torn apart in the process. Other high-priority missions occupied Strakhov for some time, including his daring mission to rescue Kommander Karchev from the Thornwood necrofactorium. Thus, it wasn’t until nearly a year later—amid escalating fighting between Khador and Cygnar—that Strakhov had the opportunity to go recover Torch’s cortex, calling upon a handpicked team of veteran kommandos. They infiltrated a warehouse holding recovered military spoils in Point Bourne and retrieved what remained of the warjack. Returned to captured factories in Merywyn, Torch was soon rebuilt under Strakhov’s watchful eye. The warcaster insists the machine is even more clever and ferocious than it was before, having learned a degree of selfpreservation from this setback. So they blew him up, nicked his cortex. Strakhov went epic to save his own warjack. What a man, be more like Strakhov, less like Stryker.

Cool, thanks for posting that, I haven't read any of the MkIII fluff (although I just bought the Humble Bundle with all the PP stuff so I might start soon).
Yup, the Hoff is definitely my favourite warcaster, and the fluff only reinforces that.
... although if they were rebuilding Torch anyway, they really should have just gone ahead and installed those alchemically-treated lenses that Strakhov and ALL HIS KOMMANDOS already use...

I definitely think there's at least a blessing of vengeance 2 in the works, or at least a way to get Sovereign Tristan Durant to use him considering how much time they spend together in Godless. I've been working on a succinct and fluff based argument to send across to Pagani et all to convince them for the next dynamic update...

There have been so many setups for things to go epic that fluff-wise have been over 2 years ago, I think the ship has sailed on most of them. For Cryx at least Terminus, but since he wasn't in the CID, I guess they'll just leave him as is. Nightmare got destroyed in the Thornwood, but I think I read about him being around after that, so guess they just rebuilt him.

Well in Terminus’ case he’s technically dead now (with very obvious foreshadowing he had a backup soul somewhere) so he’s definitely a candidate to go epic on his return

Only the really stupid ones keep said phylactery on themselves, because as long as it is not destroyed, they can be resurrected. For some reason, Cryx didn't actually have much to do during the 2 years of the time skip, except protect Toruk while he licked his wounds. I find it extremely hard to believe that neither Skarre, nor the Coven bothered to look for the phylactery and bring back their benefactor, who is very powerful and would have no doubt rewarded them handsomely. Seeing as they chose to give us Skarre 3 in the CID, instead of Terminus 2, I doubt the latter will ever see the light of day.

Not sure I've seen any cryx fluff since the timeskip - nearly all cygnar or llael perspective fighting khador
