I'm thinking the Shrike and Scavenger might be pretty good choices in CoI. I also feel like the Helldiver is still pretty useless. How about the rest of you?

I like the Scavenger because Sprint, the stalker is useless.

I like the Scavenger because Sprint, the stalker is useless. The stalker has extended command range according the stream today. So there's that.

The Stalker's -1 to casualty rolls might be handy, but I think it's a bit to expensive.

While we're discussing the other light jacks, might as well throw the Shrike in there. Is there any room in this game mode for a trample machine that otherwise doesn't see table time?

It's a trample machine that also has two initial attacks. Under an Iron Lich Overseer's dark shroud drive it can put out respectable damage.

Just to be clear though, I don't think the dark shroud applies to the trample attacks as the attacks are all resolved after movement is complete, correct? I can see the shrike being fantastic in this format though, fast and hard to hit, free tramples, accurate and hits hard enough for anything you will be facing.

I think it's possible, but hard to pull off. Not honestly sure though. I was thinking about using dark shroud on the initials, and trample as a separate thing.

That would certainly work.

The shrike is actually quite useful for any caster that doesn't have ghost walk and needs its jacks to get somewhere. Morty2 especially. In CoI it's really good with mission specialist, because you can trample with it and do an unstoppable mission action. Blackbanes are also very good at this, with the ability to apparition around obstructions.
