Hello I am a new player, I just had a look at the crocodile models, I think they are fantastic. I would like to build a beast heavy crocodile army. Since I am a new player I would like to receive some advice on what to buy. I am definitely buying the gargantuan crocodile when it is released. And what about the Meat Thresher, is that a good buy ? Thanks for the help. kind regards Kim

Rask as a starting warlock
x2 Wrastlers as starting beasts
Follow with x2 Ironback Spitters and x1 Blindwalker as needs allow, but secondary purchases
Wrong Eye and Snapjaw
After that, the blanks will get filled in based on what direction you would like to take things.
The Meat Thresher is not a model I wpuld recommend for a new player, but the rule of cool applies--if you think it is neat, no one should stop you from getting what you like.

We are more restricted in options than most of the other factions, particularly if you choose to focus on one side of Minions (Blindwater or Thornfall) without dipping into the other. This lack of options can be frustrating at times but it does mean that getting a 'core' force together for your army is relatively easy.
As Gaston said above, two Wrastlers and a Gator caster is an excellent starting point. Try and get in some low points games using just those then work out how you'd like to expand, either more beasts or infantry / solos.
I'd stay away from the Dracodile for the moment, it's not a 'must have' particularly if you go for the Wrastlers, and you're better padding out an army with our bread-and-butter options like Posse and Shamblers you can use alongside your battlegroup.

Just want to take a second to welcome both of you to lormahordes. Been a while since I've seen new Minions.

I've recently been getting beaten quite badly in my local meta and so signed up hoping to get some advice.

Thanks for the welcome and the replies. I really like the Calaban the Grave Walker model, will Calaban the Grave Walker and two Wrastlers be a good start ? Thanks again. Kim

I don't think Calaban needs two Wrastlers, though they could potentially serve well under other locks. For Calaban, a Wrastler and a BlindWalker would be a better starting point. He needs to be able to arc his spells. Prior to the release of the BlindWalker, Calaban was pretty weak. With the arc node beast, he became one of my favorite competitive, minion locks.

Kim Calaban + 1 Wrastler, 1 blindwalker does a lot. Calaban doesn’t really do Beast heavy all that good, he likes a mix of beasties, units and perhaps a sacral vault. But you could always do with a box of Posse or eBay some croak raiders (people seem to be selling these quite cheap nowadays). If you want beast heavy you could always look into Rask, the new JagaJaga or Barnabas1
